Raylars and CMI's will cost me almost $27,000.00 I found two 525's with factory warranty on them and about 40 hours for about $25,000.00 after a trade in of my HO's. I wasn't planning on CMI's with the Raylars but I'm trying to compare apples to apples as much as possible. I didn't plan on spending $25,000.00 but it seems to be happening. Suggestions please!

I think 10 MPH is very possible in the 35 Outlaw.

For comparision:

My 36 Outlaw with 500's ran a solid 72 MPH stock and could see close to 74 under ideal conditions. I did the heads, cams and reprogramed the computers and was knocking on the door of 80 MPH. The 35 will respond to the added HP much better than the 36 in my opinion. I would be surprised if you did not get at least 8 MPH as long as they truely make 550 HP.

If you want to talk with a motor guy that can really make them sing please call Mark Boos at Precision Marine at 504-469-7461. He will be glad to talk with you and I can assure you you can take anything he tells you to the bank.

Good luck

Dock, Are you saying the Raylars are the way to go. I'm perfectly happy going that way, if I can be sure to be at 80 with the right propellers. I just don't want any regrets. But blue 525's sure would be nice.

I know very little about the Raylar and cannot recommend them because I have never run them myself and do not know anyone that has first hand.

With that said I will say that I have followed a lot of threads on the Raylar package and they do seem to be a very nice package and Ray has impressed me as being a good straight forward honest guy.

If you find a good pair of Merc 525 that would be my first choice but I would sure look into the Raylar's also.

The only thing I can tell you is with 550 HP you should be real happy with the 35 OL hull.

Please keep us posted on what you decide.

Know that you have a BAJA go join the only all BAJA site on the web TEAMBAJAMARINE.COM[/QUOTE]

The only thing I have ever seen that was informative on that site was you get no cork from TRICK and the how to change an impeller class 101. #1 reason to stay away the owner is a FLAKE.

Back to guy that came to the best site for information. I did a Raylar 525 earlier this year with CMI Sport Tubes for a customer. It is a very nice package and should produce 565 HP with the CMI's added. Ray is currently remapping the computer so we will not know until spring what the actual gains are.

There you have it.

I will say that the package really looks GREAT!

Thanks Brian

I'm going to wait on Ray to see what he's says. I just can't see spending that much money and not going up to blue 525's. I guess the extra $10,000 for the headers is where my hang up is.

i would lean towards the 525's.. Reason being that they are a 502 block that has all FORGED parts unlike the 496 that is cast parts.. I would think with a few tweaks here and there you can get 550 out of the blue motors..

That's what it's looking like but I still want to Ray about it first. Honestly $17,000 and 80mph would be fine with me, instead of $27000

Now Brian why would you go and make a BONE HEAD remark like that... Quit being a JACKASS!!!!!

There is a wealth of information on TBM... Let the man make up his own mind if he doesn't like the site he doesn't have to go there.. He doesn't need you to tell him to stay away..
