Always put your drill in reverse and let it kind of grind away the gel coat first. Then put it back in forward and drill the hole. The gel coat is brittle and if you are too aggressive drilling straight into it the gel coat will chip and you have a big mess.
Just put the drill in reverse and put it where you want the hole and pull the trigger and when you have a cupped area in the gel then it is safe to drill.
Sorry I don't know how to explain it any better.
Good luck

Good luck with the project and let us know how it turns out.
I also like to put a large piece of masking tape over the area and drill right through it.

yes both do, spring loaded. like a pop up cleat.
you have to go on the bow to pull anchor anyway, I see no need for the motorrized ones other than....hay watch this effect/

Ok, so both the accon marine parts 210-m, and 211-m are two big for a baja 252. The 252 has a slight indention on the nose and both lights would bolt on the high parts of the deck leaving gaps and looks bad. So looking for other branda os pop up lights. I KNOW someone makes one that fits because i alomost bought another 252 when looking for one that had one that fit great. IDEAS?
