If you're talking the weekend of May 9th, the canoe races down at Keywaydin are the place to be. It's just north of the pass at Marco Island. We'll be going down to camp on the beach. It will be a weekend you won't soon forget!

It's awesome up around Upper Captiva. Barnacle Phils's is a cool place to eat. We were there Sunday. While up there, ride up the outside to Cayo Costa. It's a state park, so there's no hotels, houses, etc. Just cabins to rent. What I like is how remote it is. It's like you're on a deserted island.

Yep, I would agree with all the above-posted info. Do go to Cabbage Key... very different and worth it. Green Flash on Captiva is another favorite of ours (on the water... just south of South Seas Resort).
Fort Myers Beach has a few places. Doc Fords is opening right next to the bridge (there is one on Sanibel - owned by local writer Randy Wayne Wright). Snug Harbor is right on the water there and they have good food. Parrot Key is past the shrimp boats in the Salty Sam's marina area and is a Key-West type seafood and burger restaurant.
There is a lot to see and do. With your size boat you will be fine. We are going to be parting ways with the 275 this week (sold it to a man from Germany who will be shipping it there) but we should be taking posession of the 30 outlaw within a week or so (waiting for the new lift to get installed).
I'm sure I will think of some more places and when I get a second I'll post them here.
