Why not buy one with Twins? |

Why not buy one with Twins? http://www.bajamarine.com/archive/2002/29_outlaw.pdf I want the single for lots of reasons. We have some ruff reas here outside Stockholm and I want the propp as far down as possible so I can stear while the boat makes smaller jumps. With twins the engines is higher up becaus of the v-shape, one engine drinks less fuel and our gass is like three times more expensive than in US:angry-smiley-055: And the boats I´ve tryed with twins has tended to "snake" their way through some of the ruff reas as the propps not always are in water at the same time. Where can I look for boats at Lake of the Ozarks? Is there any sale sites? Sorry bout the language. |
The link you posted is just for options. I've not heard of one with a 575sci either. I'm guessing dye to cost one wasn't built. You might be able to find one with a 500efi in it..

I dont know if any site that is specificly for Lake of the Ozarks (LOTO), I just know that lake has some of the single engine 29's. There is a guy at LOTO that is looking at getting rid of his but i dont know what power he has in the boat. Or if it is for sale. I let him know your looking he may look you up. if you want to PM me your email I can forward it to him. You could always change the power.

Thanks for the tip. You got a pm. |
Teo,
Since we are both Europeans, I would suggest you to do the following (at least that is what I am planning to do): 1. Find a 29 OL with single engine installation (Preferably with the 496, or the 496HO) 2. Either in the States or in Europe, arrange to install one of the Raylar kits. I would vote for the 103 Kit. This will increase the output power of the engine to about 525 HP which I think is ok for this size of boat. I know that you would prefer even higher power, and the 496 can achieve power up to 600 or maybe even a bit more. Personally I would not like to "push" the engine in so high output, plus this would require a more "significant" modification of the engine. I am not familiar if the same "push up" in power can be achieved with the 454. I think that the 502 can be pushed up a bit more easier than the 454, but I am sure some of the people here can help you about it. Now, in the states there are many good engine shops to carry out this mod of the engine. In Europe, one I know is the following in Germany: http://www.496power.de/ Good luck with your project. |

I have the same feeling ´bout pushing the engine too much. Thats why I want a large enginge that already have some power to start with. Teo |
There was a single 29 Outlaw around here that had a 500 EFI with a procharger on it.
The boat ran in the mid 60's. I will also say in my opinion they ride better with the single as they are better balanced. |
