40 Outlaw on Ebay

Not real fond of the paint, but, the power is perfect and the battery mount/steps look Killer, judging my the amps [all SIX of them!] it must have a pounding system in it!

Odd add for a $289,000 boat, talks about custom this custom that and would only spring for 5 pictures and none of the custom hull or power. Nice battery box setup though, got 2 pictures of that, they must have been proud of the number of batteries.

n20michael 10-21-2009 11:14 PM

More boat than I could afford, thats for sure, I suppose the 700/NXT's are the "custom" power?, not sure about the custom hull though, unless they mean the paint?

Would probably look at a used Cig or Outerlimits if I was gonna [or could] drop that kinda coin, some cool stuff in it though.

Irishtornado 10-22-2009 12:06 AM

This was Baja's Poker Run boat it's a Custom layup 40OL no cuddy. Last Poker Run Tour boat built in Bucyrus,OH

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/b...023-40-pr.html

I've seen this boat in person paintjob is awesome

n20michael 10-22-2009 01:57 AM

Really?, WOW, I guess that it IS in fact a custom hull with custom "this and that".........

Dont get me wrong, I can appreciate the work that went into the paint job, its just not my kind of paint, prefer something more subtle myself, but, to each there own, 90MPH PLUS is pretty stout, but, the price tag is hefty, although if the fella who offered 500K for it before is still in the market, he could get a pretty good deal!!

I thought "Split Decision" already had a new home.

In my opinion the NICEST Baja ever to come out of the factory.

This boat is trick top to bottom, bow to stearn and ran 90+ all day with seven people on board.

Kustom Kolors out did themselves on this paint job.

I loved it the first time I saw it at the Miami Boat Show. It got more attention at the show than boats costing three times as much.

Looks like you can still get this one!!!!! Thats what I was told as well back about 2 months ago, but something must've happened for the sale to not go through.

Dock Holiday 10-22-2009 11:19 AM

Does anyone know if this is still considered a NEW boat with full engine and outdrive warranty?

In the past, yes, but now days ???

I remember seeing a merc bulletin last year that
addressed these types of situations w/hp engines
and warranty, but I can't seem to find it.

They ( hawkeye) have treated me very good
with those warranty gray area's though;)

Hawkeye is the best period. I always wished they were closer to us.

Thanks

This boat is very full of many extras large and small, while I am not overly moved by the theme of the boat the paint is awsome. When it was in Miami I got quite a few photos of the boat I still look at them and am amazed.

Copied from another site......

"Sold on paper, money put down, trade in's all crossed over (titles signed and trade in vehicles in possession of dealer.) Then came the final money, and signing of the loan papers, guy fell off the face of the earth, not returning calls, not questioning his money, on and on...

Very Strange...

So it is back on the market... The matching truck is still available as well, for those that want the "full" set up!"

boat4fun 10-23-2009 04:49 PM

Wow, you must have been here while we did this deal, because your right on. Only we have been in contact with the customer. He still wants the boat, but he ran into some other unexpected issues, so it wasn't good timing for him to close. We couldn't continue to hold this boat with out further securities. The gentleman who was ready to do the deal is an honest / great guy, he just ran into some unexpected difficulties. This is the reason for this boat getting re-listed.

I appreciate the help on the pics!! We up dated some new photos on e-bay today. I also appreciate the lack of photos being brought to our attention. - Thank You!!

Doc, I don't see how that picture can possibly hurt the sale of this boat. We will include a personal (drunk'n) deck hand to the top bidder. He was sent down in the cuddy to grab some lines and this is how he was found.

thisistank 10-23-2009 08:15 PM

I think this boat has to be my favorite Baja of all time even beating out my beloved stepped 442!:drink:

AWESOME BOAT!

AWESOME BOAT!

I agree. By far my favorite baja ever. If i could just find a quick sale for my 30 OL i would seriously consider buying this beauty :evilb:

cpiefer06 10-23-2009 10:01 PM

I am sure they would work out a trade for the 30 OL!

n20michael 10-24-2009 01:19 AM

If you are thinking of "blowing out" your 30 Outlaw let me know!, but, I assume you would want [need?] EVERY dime you could get out of it to buy "Split decision" wicked boat though, and its WELL worth the Cash!

Can anyone tell me a little more about the audio in the boat, it looks completely INSANE!!!

Thanks!
Michael

n20michael 10-24-2009 03:37 PM

WOW!!!!!!!!!

I really cant think of what else to say? it must be MIND ALTERINGLY loud!

The amplifier rack is killer!, looks like something from a Motorhead concert!, lol

I Love those volt meters, any idea who makes them? or where they custom made.

I think I might try and make up a battery box/step set up myself, great idea!, will probably powder coat though, much cheaper than chrome.

Thanks for the info, its appreciated!

Michael

boat4fun 10-26-2009 10:27 AM

Stinger makes a cheaper version and they're offered in Red or Blue LED lights for $39.99 Ea. They don't have the switch panel, or face plates, but if your just looking for a volt meter these will be nice looking and much less money.

The ones used in split decision have 7 power switchs on the same panel for each amplifier. So you can turn off amps / speakers / subs individually. I am not sure what brand these are, I'd have to pull out to see if the name is on the back side.

n20michael 10-26-2009 12:11 PM

I looked at the Stinger stuff, its not bad, but, the ones in Split Decision are GORGEOUS, IF you happen to come acroos who made them, I would appreciate it, thanks for the reply!

Looks like a few Coors Lights got "hurt" too:drink:

Ready2roll 10-28-2009 03:39 PM

WOW! So Split Decision didn't receive any bids. I felt certain it would sell.

n20michael 10-28-2009 04:08 PM

Well, the paint job is kinda one of those "love it or hate it" deals, might also be an indication of how BAD the economy is, for ALL of us!

Michael

Irishtornado 10-28-2009 04:35 PM

I think Ebay on big ticket items like this it's just cheap advertising.

risky 10-28-2009 09:35 PM

That is awsome

The boat is nice and the stereo killer, the amp rack is nice, I have 3 10inch subs, 3 amps and six speakers in a 24 outlaw and I thought that was way to much.

sonic69 10-29-2009 05:56 AM

To see this boat in person is totally different. It's one rowdy boat and yes it is louder than hell. I love the paint, just wish I had the cash.

n20michael 10-30-2009 03:30 PM

Just curious? Does anyone know who makes those battery boxes/steps? I think its a REALLY, REALLY good idea and was wondering if they where for sale? or are they a custom "1 off" thing? I have checked out most of the custom Marine places [Eddie, Dana, etc] and they sell just about every battery box imaginable, but, nothing with "steps"?

Thanks!
Michael
