I have to either get paid to be somewhere, or wake up at the party to be there by 8:30a.m.! I usually roll into Jobbienooner around 10:30 - 11:00...

Where are they running those this year? Last year they launched from my marina (Beacon Cove). Are they doing a St. Clair River race, or just a L.S.C. race? When Dwayne use to organize them we would "cobra boat" for him.

Bajagus 02-01-2010 07:48 AM

Both races are scheduled for this year. I usually end up right behind the start / finish boat in the river race.

Thanks Baja 2008,

Any time your ready send me a PM, or email.

OK, Back to Ebay Ed's Boss 272.......Ed, I keep forgetting I don't own the title to this boat, and I keep cleaning, and waxing it like it is my own Baja again??? The motorlid release bracket that you had started was not going to work because of the angle of the power lift, and it only moved a little before it bounded-up. Check-out this stainless steel release tube we had made instead!

Ed here is what those Blue LED's look like under the rear vent cover.

Oh, and I had a prototype decal that I thought looked good on the back of the boat?

Dave, Doc, Ed,

We WILL make a run to Muskamoo Bay this summer. Dave, let us know the best date to do it? I have a good friend that lives on Grosse Ile in the Detriot river that we always stay with him the night before the party. He is also a Baja owner, that has a house right on the river. Here are pic's of my 29 OL at JN with a buddy and his Sea Plane, a couple years back....

Dave,

The job on Ed's boat is sweet.

Thanks for the pictures especially of the sea plane with your boat. That is really cool! Looks like a great trip for sure and a good time.

I've told you this before several times but the port hole windows really look cool on the 29. I wish they would come back in style.

See you in a few weeks.

I think you mean "Bust A Move" Bay as Bob would say!

That trip was as much fun as any poker run. Even the blood shed on the return trip home made the story that much more interesting. :drink:

The Moot is jammin every weekend it's the local party cove.

bajaboatnut 02-03-2010 11:33 AM

I made it up to that area twice last year. Both jobbie nooner wkkends some of the best times I had boating. Love the water in Lake st. clair. Getting excited already.

bajaboatnut 02-03-2010 11:36 AM

The moot is a sweet spot as well we go there on sat. when were up there. The plane was in the middle of the gauntlet, may I add with many great looking ladys.

We'll all be at St.Clair Marina for the weekend

bajaboatnut 02-03-2010 05:19 PM

Is that different than detroit beach and Do I have to make reservations. One time we trailered up the day before stayed at emabassy in troy and put in but it was a zoo. Rather stay at the marina and be in the water already.

The last sept. jobbie we put in at monroe real early and road up the detroit river. wasnt bad. long day.

Baja, if you want a good, cheap alternative, you can trailer your boat to Metro Beach, launch the boat, and stay at the park on your boat for the night. You'd be super close to JN, in the water and ready to go. Or you can launch the boat, leave it there for the night, and stay at a local hotel...

Just a thought... I think the fee for the day is $10 to dock a boat, and another $10 to leave it over night...

Ed,

Your decals from the (original) Baja vendor arrived today. Too bad we are in for such bad weather, or you could have gotten the boat tomorrow? Adam, is interested in completing some of the stereo system upgrades you have mentioned to us.

You can PM him on this board: WOTWTE

The red resin that was used on the Baja's, do you have any more information on it? I can remember as a kid a buddy's dad used to build stuff in his garage with it, only other time I've seen it (he worked at Baja).

The resin we used is yellow in color, but the hardner is Red. mixing the hardner in turns the resin all red. I don't know the details on the hardner right now, but I know they use the same thing at Checkmate Marine. Maybe Friday when everyone is there, I will get the details?

XT

c_deezy 03-02-2010 01:55 AM

Ahhh, that makes more sense. Thanks for the info. Is it just a dye that is added to the hardener to turn it red?

http://www.fiberglassflorida.com/fib...-for-mekp.html

Any info you could get would be cool, unless it's a guarded trade secret or something :D.

XT-Innovator 03-09-2010 03:37 PM

That looks like the stuff to me. I don't think there is any trade secrets on it?

Melted Aero Bolsters

Ok, here is our next challenge to repair fire damage that someone did to a set of Baja Aero bolsters. The only thing we could save was the stainless steel grab handles on the backsides.

Good luck with that Dave. Did you tell the customer you may have to replace some of the foam too?

Well here is how the burnt Baja Aero bolsters turned out. The seats turned-out looking great, but I think we got stuck with a $550.00 bad check for the down payment. Why do banks take so long to tell you about a bad check? The customer will not call me back, or answer emails from the last two weeks.

XT:bsflag:

sonic69 05-06-2010 07:12 AM

I hope you still have the seats atleast. Man that sucks.
