Price range is 25k.
I have been looking at 2000 and 2001, year range. Most of them at that price have a 454 in them. I had someone tell me that really wasn't enough motor for that boat. I would prefer the 496 HO. I have found one that I am thinking of putting in an offer for, it has the 496.

I went thru the same thing... I had a 226 larson with 21 degree V.... wanted a better riding boat and knew I needed to get the 25 after some research!! LOVE IT>> could use a bigger boat now, but all my friends bought boats so now I have no one to split fuel much less on twins!!
25 is the smallest baja with the 24 degree aside from the 245 islander. H2X and 23 both have 21 and that will still pound you in 2-3 fters that the 25 smooths out at 50 mph! good luck!

I have a 2002 25 Outlaw with 496. I am looking to sell. Boat has 190 hrs. All oils changed every spring, new impeller every other year. Very clean. I keep the bilge washed out regulary, Boat gets washed after each use, and waxed often. Has a eagle trailer. Never in salt water or left in water for more than one night at a time. Love the boat but dont use very much. I am going to be building a new house so the boat or the Z06 has to go. Will take $32000

I knew the 25 was going to win going away. I had just thought power options and years might play a part.
I can't fine a 25 with a 496HO in my price range, but there is a 23 with a 496...which with it being a shorter boat.. I thought might make it faster than a 25 with a 496 or 454.

I went through the same thing a few years ago. I spent a lot of time looking at the 23 vs 25. Ended up buying a brand new 25 HO boat. It was a beautiful boat and I had no complaints with it.
I would look for a 496 Mag 25 boat over a 23 with an HO. You can always Raylar it or do other stuff to get a more power but you can't stretch a 23 footer into a 25!
