Default Which Baja would you choose?

Hello All,
I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and I have decided to purchase a baja. I have owned boats before (no more than 22') and am currently looking for one for my family that I can use in the Boston area. I see that now is a great time to purchase a boat (economy and winter coming) and I have narrowed it down to two different models. A 2001 272 Boss with 350 hours (2 owners) and in very good condition and a 2004 OL, , SST with just over a hundred hours, very very mint, fresh water use only.
There is a 10K difference between these boats, OL of course being more money, but is it worth it?
I have read the forums between the two of these comparable and I am wondering if the OL being 3 years newer is worth the price. The 272 has the 502 engine and the Ol has the 496 mag. Both boats are in great shape and since I am a newbie to the Baja family as well as haven't owned a boat for 7 years (stingray), I am getting your thoughts on what I should be looking for besides the obvious. Is the OL engine better than the 502? Is there a bog difference between the 01 272 than the 04 OL besides engines? Any input would be appreciated. I hope to make a decision by the end of this weekend. Once I buy the boat, I plan to be a part of this community and hope that after sometime and some more experience, I would like to contribute.
Thanks so much!

The same but very different. It depends on the style you like best. It is your money, which one do YOU like better?

I am a true believer, buy for emotion, not money. Boats are a hole you throw money into, does not matter what style or brand it is, so make sure it is what YOU like.

That being said, the 25 OL is easily one of the best models Baja ever made. When it comes to resale, they hold their value more and will be easier to sell down the road.

But again, get what you like, it is your money!

Thank You Bahaholic. I am leaning towards the 25 OL. I like the look better than the 272 and it makes me feel more comfortable with the newer model. Any big differences on the engines? Is the OL motor a better motor since it is 3 years newer? Did Baja change anything regarding the motors?

What motor is in the 25OL? 496HO? I personally like the 502 or 454 Mag better, but it all depends on use.

496 is closed cooling, newer technology, in stock form a very reliable motor.

The motor in the 25 OL is the 496 (no HO). Just found that out today as I wanted the HO, but from reading, not much of a difference in MPH or even HP. I am test driving it tomorrow.

It'll figure to about 4-5 mph between the 2 with the right setup...Resale will also be a factor when you go to sell as most do want the HO.

Hi guys, I've been considering selling my 2000 29 outlaw for a bigger boat. Just spent alot in extras this year and in mint condition. All fresh water use on winni and sabego has low 238 hours on twin 454 330hp each. Boat is in NH. Let me know if your interested.
