I own a 29' Fountain and a 27 Baja Boss. Both over 700 hp. I find that the Baja is easier to get around on, More space in side and out. The Baja has steps to the deck and alot easier to see over the wind screen. The fountain does not seem to be very modern. Kinda like a 80"s limo, and i personally don't like the left hand throttle. And the elect bolster seats in the fever kinda slopes down. and looses its position, The best feature of the fountain is the handleing and step hull. and a much spacious engine bay for working in. For family outings and shear convenience definitely the Baja .

Oh and the 3 piece cabin door on the fountain sucks.

Sounds like the 1980's Fountain design isn't making you very happy.
