Ive got the 342 and love it! if it was any bigger It would be a bit*h to tow! I dont like the big rounded deck on top of the 38, and my 342 has plenty of room for us and three boys!

I owned a 38 Special,,,,for 2 weeks,,,,drive one first to make sure you like it.

I was looking for a " sportier " feel.

Lots of room thought and all the amenities are nice

Had no problem towing it around, but Im used to towing 40+ footers around

My 36 Outlaw is actually a touch longer then the 38 was,,,,,,go figure

I believe if memory serves me correctly, the 342 weighs the same as the .38 special.

38 special is 1300# heavier (9600 compared to 8300). Heavier trailer. Add genset, more fuel, storage; fresh, gray....you see where this is going.

+1

The 38 is a whole lotta boat.

The 342 is a lady in the street and a freak in the bedroom kinda thing. Will do 71-72 with HO's if its not loaded down with fuel. Has a good ride and a lot of amenities. I can tell you that the "U" shaped seating in either boat is great for entertaining, comfort and lounging around.
