how much did that boat sell for at auction?

kragar 09-22-2011 09:11 AM

Shold make for a healthy profit. That boat was a steal for sure.

obnoxus 09-22-2011 09:47 AM

Not enough to justify asking that......besides the fact the boat is immaculate and one of a kind !!!!! LOL

I thought I remember a thread with a guy was proud to own it and he was keeping it though

Irishtornado 09-22-2011 06:24 PM

Yea there was he was proud enough to have it forsale. That is more than Dock was asking with the Whipples on it. He's nuts thinking he's gonna get 119k for a 2002 in this market.

n20michael 09-22-2011 07:04 PM

Agreed! In this economy 120K is getting close to Nor tech, Outerlimits range, it IS a gorgeous boat, and was even NICER when "Dock" had it for sale, NO disrespect intended, but, 120K is dreaming, I will be suprised if he gets 2/3 of that.

teamsynergy 09-22-2011 07:08 PM

Whatever he's smokin'... I want some! Puff Puff Pass LMFAO

I thought they were asking like $60k for it. It's a nice boat and one of a kind, but at the end of the day it's a 2002 36 Outlaw.

redbud35 09-22-2011 09:01 PM

You can buy a T/S for that price.

obnoxus 09-23-2011 08:00 AM

Just a shame,,,,I missed the auction ending.

I wanted to put it back together and enjoy it, not flip.

Who is a better company to buy products from? Lathem ?

Or Omce?

I am going to be purchasing a new external hydraulic steering arm unit. It is an add on one not the full system. Which company should I buy from and why?

Doc's 36 Outlaw

I heard it went for $55,000.00. And like you guys said when mark had it you could buy it for 100,00.00 with the Imco drives and Whipples.I bet these guys didn't pull the engines and change out the oil pans like it needed to stop the oil leaks either! the engines where built for whipples so I wonder how they respond with stock efi set up.They will be lucky to get $75,000.00 for it,And with Winter around the corner and the boat going to be a year older soon there dreamin. He will be keeping it and using it at that price.

Ebay Ed 09-23-2011 04:51 PM

maybe they think since it doesnt say Dock Holiday on it no one will regconize it and know any of the history ( like in selling price and what it use to be ) and some fool will walk in and buy it

D that boat's been for sale for a long long time (like years). Not sure why as it's fully loaded and low hours and fresh water and 575's. Gotta go 80+
I'm sure it's worth seeing, if they'd drop the price a bit yet.

Like I said I live 5 miles from Skipper Bud's in Fenton. If you want I'll go take a look at it and get you better pics before you make the drive. Let me know. If it's still sitting there. That ad has been up for over a year now I'm not sure the owner would let it sit there over winter months they don't have indoor storage at that facility.

I agree,,,,,,will have to be gone through with a fine tooth comb.

And yes the price would need to come down considerably especially considering you know what I sold my 36 for and how clean it was plus the Eagle trailer !!!!!

That was my thought to,,,,,, or it made a few trips down south,,,,, I am a little worried about blisters if it is truely a michigan boat and sat in the water all summer.

Drives arent a deal breaker for me if the price can be adjusted,,,,,,but gelcoat issues Im not willing to deal with.

If you wouldnt mind swinging by there I would greatly appreciate it just in case its a complete waste of time. :drink:

That sure looks like salt damage to me.

I'll swing by and look it over see if I see anything major.

36 outlaw in michigan

I have the owners info I think.I made an offer to Him back last fall for $70,000.00 but he wouldn't take less than $80,000.00.The blowers will need to be removed and sent off and the top ends will need to be done as well as the blisters in the gel-coat which tells me that there's alot of moisture in the hull from sitting in the water all the time with out bottom paint on it!I would have a moisture test done before I even considered it.. looking at anywhere from $3,500.00 to $5,000 to do the engine refresh if the leak down test comes back good.Good luck

Irishtornado 09-25-2011 12:49 PM

If it has blisters I wouldn't even waste my time. I'll let you know.

obnoxus 09-25-2011 12:49 PM

Thanks !!!!

I'm out,,,,,not worth 80 to me,,,,,and not dealing with blisters

Appreciate the info

I agree,,,,,, I saw what they had to do to fix them under warrenty on my 272 :angry-smiley-055:

Not intentionally going through that again !!

Mike L 10-03-2011 10:58 AM

I am interested in buying this boat because they are willing to trade for my 2000. I remember following the build for Doc's boat and it is one of a kind, if the price can come way down and I trade my 2000 36 outlaw and the price works out it would be worth it. I remember the oil leak but is there anything else people can tell me? Thanks!

Mike L 10-03-2011 12:09 PM

It sounds like talking with the guy it has been totally freshened and done right by CK Motorsports.

obnoxus 10-03-2011 02:14 PM
