What is the dry weight of a Boss 302 w/twin small blocks? I have a buddy of mine that is putting it on a 5500lb shore station lift and is holding up fine. I am considering doing the same with mine, but I am 6500lb dry weight. thanx in advance for your response,

From: Denmark and hopefully some place nice
The dry weight is listed as 6800lbs. and that is probably on the light side with small blocks, so at least 7200lbs. Add to that 925lbs if the 150 gal. tank is full. Full and loaded up, you are looking at 8500lbs fast To say it as nicely as possible. Putting a 7200+lbs boat on a 5500lbs. lift is not the best of ideas and the insurance won't like it either. If something happens to the boat or persons around it, you're screwed. Same goes for a 6500 lift. You also need to consider what happens if a storm comes. Then the lift is under even more strain, and you don't have that safety margin you'll need. Get a lift with the correct rating.
