Twin 496HO's will run about 75-77 in a stock 29 or 30.

Wrong
HO's in a 29-30 will run close to 80. I had a 30 with 496 mags that ran 72-73

You're right. I checked up on the 30 I've been on, it was with non-HO's, and that ran 70-72 depending on conditions. My mistake. I still say 80 is too high though. 75-77 on a regular basis with HO's.

Busta's 30 with HO's will run 80. He has a built in generator also. My 06 30 with Mags would only run 73 with labbed 28's.

Either way not bad speeds for a straight bottom boat not known for being real fast.

I'd sell mine. It is a 99 & will run in the 80's with the power in it right now. The trailer is right too. You'll would be buying a 100% dialed in rig. Fresh top-ends on the motors, fresh drives, probably by the spring a fresh interior.

MINE!! IMCO -3" SC drives, full IMCO hydraulic steering, IMCO extension boxes, 380 K-Planes, Nice rebuilt/improved Heritage 3 axle trailer with 16" wheels with "E" tires + 2 spare tires & wheels to match the other 6. Electric brakes, new paint, new bunks, new suspension, new bearings.......
The boat is a 99 Baja 29 Outlaw with 454 Mag MPI motors that have 525EFI heads (Edelbrock) custom ground roller cams from Tyler Crockett, 16 new 50lb/hr injectors. Motors probably make 525+hp if not more now with the Whipples gone & back to natural aspiration.
Boat ran a best of 94mph on GPS with 2.3L Whipples on it & ran 92 mph on radar at the 2009 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.
