I'm in Oceanport which is at exit 105 on the Parkway (what exit are ya). I live on the Shrewsbury and have a 100' dock with a lift. There is a boat launch right across the street from me in Long Branch which is big enough to launch big boats (up to 42' I've seen). If you want to put in and keep it tied to my dock for the weekend, gimme a yell.

We have access to the Shrewsbury and the Navisink, which is a cool cruise. Tons of dock and dine on the Nav and in the highlands. NY Harbor is 25 miles north which we hit pretty often. Sometimes we head up to New Brunswisck up the Raritan river and occansionally do the Staten Island loop. INteresting cruise, not the most scenic though. Ocean going is great too, but you have to round Sandy Hook. Lots of choices depending on the waether/wind.

GREAT IDEA, Will stay intouch I live in allentown, pa it took me

Will do, I'll do the same for any OSO'r. Local hotels in the area are cheap. Beach is only 1/2 mile away too.

Way I look at it, people ragging on Jersey is a good way to keep the riff-raff out of the shore...

272's seem to have a conservative X dimension,,, has anyone put a shortened lower on,,,,what were your results?

The way they love to chine walk, I'd be leery.

Boss 69 07-18-2002 08:23 AM

I agree!!

Maybe I got lucky, but I have never experienced any chinewalking on my 272.

Anybody have any tricks to keep the windshield screws tight? And how can I get a screwdriver on the ones on the inside between the dash and windshield?

obnoxus 07-18-2002 01:36 PM

Little bit of blue loctite works on mine. Now the part you dont want to hear.... to get at those,,, pull the black rubber gasket from around the windshield and remove the screws holding the windshield to the boat !!! The good news id now you can fix the weather stripping that I am sure is working its way out from under the windshield !!!
