In the photos they're running off my 12v battery pack.

I'm thinking of hooking them up to the wiring for the stern light (white mast light). I don't really see a point in running more wire and adding another switch.

They were supplied with a 15A fuse.

Sounds like a good idea I think I'll do the same. Hoping they arrive today I ordered 3 from coastal two larger ones and one smaller that I'm going to mount under the swim platform or possibly just above the drive. I love the trim tab instal. I wish I would have seen this before I ordered mine

Could always sell 'em! There are a lot of things I like about the tab install. No new holes in the transom, and the lights are a good 12" back of the boat, which should be even better at night in terms of lighting up the water.

What year Vette do you have? I've got a 2000 C5 convertible..... not a Z, but gets me in enough trouble!

Blue. They're bright on the trailer; looking forward to seeing them in the water!

RR, did you mount them on the tabs also?

They look Great! What holds them into the aluminum channel? Are they glued or just floating in there?

Here is a link to ONE of the dozens of Asian sellers on Ebay that sells these lights, I was at a bike show awhile back and a fella was selling "kits" to do Harleys and Sport bikes, lights looked IDENTICAL to these and the "kits" where $100 plus install!

The link here is for "white" LED's which are usually more money than colored ones, I have no idea why. They also sell transformers so you can run them off 120V, a chick I know ran some of the white ones around the base of her kitchen cabinets for nite lights, they work quite well. You can get them in waterproof and non waterproof, you can cut them every 3rd LED and then you just solder new wires on and shrink wrap the ends. I have bought them in 1 metre [about 3 feet] and 5 metre [about 16 feet] lengths, but, I have seen longer and shorter versions. Just do a search for "Waterproof LED's" on Ebay and shop away!

I hope you have a blast up North! I look forward to the pics of the lights IN the water, will help me decide if its worth the effort of making up a chunk of channel and putting lights in it or not.

Talking

They're just siliconed in place inside a small aluminum C-channel. Not much to them really, I think the guy is making some good $$$.

It would be interesting to see how bright those Ebay ones are.

Check out these links: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-BLUE-LED-S...item41697321f2

These look identical to the ones that are installed in mine. Sort of rubbery/PVC bulb-like.

LOL - $10 for 120cm..... Would make about 4 sets. I'm guessing these are cuttable as well.

Any advice on placement of the transom lights? I have two of the larger coastal night lights arriving tomorrow. Was thing of installing the level with the trim tabs and placing the smaller one just above the drive or possibly underneath the swim platform on my h2x. Any ideas? I was thinking I could run the wires through the trim tab holes if I mounted them close to cut back on drilling through the transom. I'm expecting a dramatic effect since the two lights are 760 lumens and the smaller on is 400 should leave a nice blue streak after dark! Any input is appreciated

Thanks

Larry

Sounds decent. Think about the waterline and where exactly you want to illuminate. You can still run the wires through the trim trab hose holes if you wanted.

I did wire mine into the stern light...... Works great.

Getting them mounted today. I decided to put the two larger lights adjacent to the trim tabs and mount the third under the swim platform as recommended by the installer ( sea ray of Cincinnati ) will post pictures after our ride on Friday night!
