My hour meter is 78 hours off because the key was left on.
It's starting to bug me, AND I was thinking of selling the boat and want the hour meter to be correct.
So is it possible to send the tach/hour meter out to be re-set?? or do I have to buy a new one?
It's the stock 8000rpm Gaffrig gauge with a red bezel.
272 Boss package.
Any info would be appreciated!

Mine is the same way... about 80 hrs off and when I bought the boat from Shogren (pier57), they gave me the scan data.... so I just remember that it is 80 off..
When you sell the boat they will not trust you (nor would you) and want a scan anyway.
save your $$, let it ride, just note down the difference

I sold my 01 Baja 272 Boss in September and had the same issue. Key was left on and boat had 37 hrs more on the meter than on the engines. Had the engines scanned by a buddy of mine who has a marina with his Merc Scan Tool. Recorded the difference and told the potential buyer i would have this verified if it was a deal breaker or he didnt believe me. Boat had 125 original hrs on it!!!! He trusted me and wasnt an issue. I agree save your money.
