Most 232s are big blocks, but there are a fair share of one around with 6.2s. I am just starting the search so there may be some changes made along the way but I just bought a new lift this year and it is going to limit me to 26' and 5500 lbs and am not going through that again for a while. I think the last year for the 232 was 2005, anyone know what the last year for the 252 is? I would like to get a islander 242 but I really dont know what they were thinking with the bow access being on the passenger side and not in the middle.

I have a 2002 232 I'm getting ready to sell. less than 200 hrs. solid 9 out of 10 very clean. It's yellow and white w/6.2, bravo 1, drive shower, 4 blade prop, hyd steering, fiberglass swim platform, new lavorsi gauges, multi color led lighting, captains call exhaust, aluminum exhaust manifold, snap on cover plus additional light weight pull over cover. Last winter I was looking for more performance had Smith Power go thru the motor. Motor has been fully dino tested and then tuned in the boat. I wanted a bullet proof motor that would make plenty of HP and have absolutely no issues and would run problem free for yrs.. this was not a cheap project but it's how the boat should have came from the factory. I believe it's a great combination for the boat very safe and family friendly. Can still wake board or tube but now with the power to go when you want to. PM me and I can get you pics., engine specs./dino results or any other info you would like.

Not sure what your price point is but the 247 might be perfect. Has the walk through in the center and sits on a 23 outlaw hull. I have a labbed 4 blade on mine and it has good plane time with tabs down. It runs 66-67 all day on GPS. Much more room and storage in that extra foot as well.
