I remember the 40' at the Ski Dock. I saw it out on Travis quite a few times and never saw the owner reallly getting on it. Most of the time it sat at the marina. A guy about Jason's age owned it(older guy). Saw it in the Ski Dock shop a couple of times--good looking boat, well taken care of.

Budweiser always pushed aside my education when it came to throttling.
My checkbook earned me an honorary doctorate in Bravo repairs.

There is this myth on OSO that if you drive magically then you wont have the bravo blues. Not true.

Whats the point of owning a powerboat just to drive it like an old bayliner? Do you drive a viper and short shift it gently like a smart car?

I baby my boat, slowly move the sticks forward AND backwards, change fluid every 10 hours with Amsoil severe gear 75/110, never get air, get on plane super easy, never hold it wide open for more then a few seconds, etc etc. Tried it all. Does not matter if I drive it easy or hard the XR gears just wear out! Sometimes as early as 30 hours sometimes 80 hours. Now if I chop the throttles, or accelerate hard then back off fast then accelerate hard again I might break a vertical shaft, cone clutch, etc etc. But the gears just plain wear out!

Basically, talk them down on the price enough to purchase SCX, Arneson, X-Power, NXT, or a #6 drive. Then you will be in love with your bad-azz looking, Huge, reliable 40' Outlaw!

If I remember correctly, within the past year and a half there was a 40 OL for sale somewhere in Iowa that had low hour whippled 525's. I believe it sold in between 90-100K.
That was mine, it went to Texas. I loved my 40OL but I seem to have a problem with 2' ittes. Nice ride, nice cabin and I think the 40 is one of the best looking Bajas built. Even though I am a Fountain owner now I am still a Baja guy a heart.

That 40 from Lake Travis that was at the ski dock sold for $160,000, i know because i bid on it, was a beautiful boat. bought this 07 one instead, 50 cheaper & added shore power etc. etc.. Nice size for Lake Eufaula here in OK.
