What model Baja is this?

http://delaware.craigslist.org/boa/3614461194.html

Searching for a 25 to 27 ft Baja with a single engine and came across this one, but NADA has no listing for a 27ft in the model year 1990. Anybody know what model it is. Missed a 260 ES on Ebay and looking for one with a large cockpit for the wife and friends.

1988-1991, the Coast Guard decided you couldn't count the swim platform in the length of the boat (i might be off a year either way). It only lasted a couple of years before they changed it back, so that's probaby a 260. I had an 89 226 sport, and it was a 24' boat including the platform. XT can probably chime in and tell you for sure what it is.

Thats a 1990 250 as it was 27 ft long if ya counted the built in swim platform. As txtraveller said they didn't count the swim platform until 1991. A 1991 260 is 26 ft long and the first year for the 260 was 91.

So the 260 is 26 ft before the swim platform and this one is 25ft so it will probably have a smaller cockpit? Then this one is probably a 250 ES. The cockpit space is very inportant in my decision. Hopefully XT chimes in, he can verify probably by just looking.

1990 Baja 250 is 27 ft overall counting built in swim platform
1991 Baja 260 is 26 ft overall counting built in swim platform

Thanks Firehill for clearing that up. l felt like I was playing "who's on first" by Abbott and Costell, LOL. The pic's are lame on the 1990 250(27ft) but I googled 250 pic's and the interior looks to be smaller. Called the guy and going to look at it on Friday, also probably going to NY on Sunday and look at a 260 if he still has it.
Googling spec's it looks like the 1990 250 has a 8ft beam and the 260 has a 8ft 6inch beam, must be different hulls altogether, wonder what the deadrise is on the 250.

The boat in the ad is a 1990 250 ES. Same boat as a 89' Sport 250, or a 91' Baja 270. There were (6) and one was mine! baja 240 DVX models built in 1990 that never made the brochure, but in 91' it was renamed the Baja 260. Hope this helps.

Deadrise on the 250 will be 24 deg so smoother ride than the 260 with 21 degree. But if ya have tabs on the 260, you can smooth out the ride some by dropping them down. The cockpit on the 260 is bigger, while the cabin on the 250 is larger than the 260. Again, i had mine for 14 years and it was a great boat as i (and help from others) did many upgrades to it and the only reason i sold it is i happened to be looking at a 302 on ebay when a coworker said he would buy mine so never had to list it.

I have a 1991 270. It's a great boat, with plenty of room and rides excellent.

The 250 is a big boat. If the cockpit is smaller on the 250 than the 260, it's not buy much. Certainly a bigger boat than the 236. That 250 has drop downs as well, not all 260's do. Seems like a good deal for 13,000.
