Yup the fastest I have ever gone in my 280 was 3' washing machine in Lake Michigan. Can never convince the wife that it is better to go fast than slow when it starts getting sloppy.

I have 502's that came stock with 450hp I put bigger cams, better springs and roller rockers in them plus I have good Stainless Marine dry exhaust. I run 28 bravo props at about 5000 so I have some work to do to get my rpm's up around 5400.. Right now its running right at 80! I hoping to get somewhere in the lower to mid 80's when I'm done with it...

Nightlife, Thank you for sharing the Video. I really need to plan a trip to Superior ( about a 3 hr drive) or Lake Michigan (about a 6-7 hr drive to Port Washington Wi.) It would be awesome ripping threw some big waves and not seeing land in any direction.

I have a 21 mirage, and a 23 michigan wheel apollo, and both would run just under 60, (on factory pitot tube, gear case mounted) at around 5000 and 4600 rpm. Bravo 1.50 1989 style gear case, with stock 454/365.

64mph took me a bit and i constantly ran 64 no matter what i did after that.. looks like im stuck at 64 untill i get new props or even the counter rotation port outdrive!

I have a 1988 280 Force that I have completely redone. Put some 383 SBC's in it with 490 HP on the Dyno.
Boat Runs 76 MPH in a 1' chop and 70 on flat water.

Recap of HP and speeds:

baja280: 980hp and 76 mph : 12.8 hp per mph (bigger boat)

88Force265: 540hp, 64 mph : 8.4 hp per mph

1989force: 365 hp, 59 mph : 6.1 hp per mph

92nsx: 415 hp, 55 mph : 7.5 hp per mph

fleg1: 330 hp, 54 mph : 6.1 hp per mph

Fleg1(320): ??? hp 80 mph : (320 force, guessing 1000 hp total, 12.5hp per mph)
