Not sure if you want to hear my two cents. We're new to boating, bought a 01 272, previous owner had practically rebuilt the entire boat from motor to new trailer. We absolutely love the boat. As someone had said get the biggest motor you can. We have the 502 ho. The boat is a dream to handle, and responsive for a single motor. Peter. Good Luck.

As someone who just bought a 97 272 please listen the the advice to get a survey. I took a good friend who has been boating all his life to look at this one with me. NOthing obviously wrong and after a couple of weeks the price came down another 3k. First run the out drive reservoir puked fluid all over the bilge. Next run the idler pulley for the water pump disenigrated leaving us to get towed in. Yesterday I noticed about 4' of the rub rail is loose and there is a noticeable rattle there when you knock on the hull. Sure hope yours turns out good.

Holy smokes, sorry to hear about all the issues with your new toy. I guess it's true on getting a survey done. I bought mine from a reputable dealer in a small town, who had serviced the boat from day one. They even did the engine swap, I assume all you can do is fix things as you can afford to. They are a great boat. Good luck.

That was my experience, boat looked perfect when sitting in the driveway. The first couple trips out were great, then things slowly started 'happening.' However, mine were all maintenance items (that didnt show up in the mech report), I just didnt expect to do them so quickly. I'm still happy with the purchase! Fun costs $.

Also if you're interested, our 01 272 502, is for sale. Less than 250 hours on motor and outdrive. Boat cover 2 years old, matching 2 year old custom built Heritage trailer, 10 year hubs and disk brakes. Boat in Port Dover Ont. if interested, 519 802 9942. Only reason for sale is we're looking at a 38' Baja Special. Was serviced by Procter Marine, they have records of engine swap and Bravo 1 replacement.
