Changing from a 3-blade to a 4-blade will indeed slow you down if the x-dim is not changed. However, in combination, the speeds will almost certainly increase or at least stay the same with the benifits of a 4-blader.
4-bladers naturally work better, more efficiently, closer to the surface.
You also have the benefit of less drag.
