My dad was also LOCO!!!
I'm seriously convinced that's why I am.
Great memories on the station wagon rides.
Sitting backwards in the rear seat in a Colorado wind storm I saw the travel trailer raise the side tires at least a foot or two in a big burst of a side wind gust.
As an 11yr old I hollered "we're gonna flip" and my Dad screamed back "STFU Kelly your scaring your sisters."
The next morning we placed his tool box and suit cases that were on the roofs luggage rack plus our large ice chests on the left side of the of the camper. When Mom asked him why he was doing this he casually replied "By weighting down the windward side it'll off set the wind and Kelly won't get his panties in a wad if we hit some of those stiff breezes again" she just rolled her eyes at him and shook her head.
That day we saw an 18wheeler with its trailer on it's side and he said "I can't believe a professional driver would run an empty trailer in these crosswinds"
Sitting in the second row seat I'm thinking WTF are we doing here too!!!
Someday we should start a trailer towing thread, there's no doubt going to be a lot of funny stories and hopefully no bad ones.
See ya

I tow my 272 (7000 lbs loaded on the trailer) with a Grand Cherokee. Zero issues.
I wouldn't think a Bronco would have much trouble, and I think the wheelbase concerns are exaggerated. Having said that, a 29 is quite a bit heavier.
