Gauge installed and got the bezel put on around the recall/erase switch

Put a new bow eye on last night as well. The backing plate is about twice the size of the old one:

Are the vents on the back of the boat you have metal?

The new ones are.. The original plastic ones were starting to crack and they were faded pretty bad so I ordered new ones from CPPerf. The new ones aren't quite a direct fit. The old ones are recessed into the boat where as these stick out from the boat. I'm going to fill the old screw holes since the new ones will be pretty close to them and I don't want them to crack out. Also the color of the new ones didn't match so I had them sandblasted and powdercoated along with the side vents which also were faded pretty bad.
Old on left, New on right before being repowdercoated.

Be glad you have replaceable grills. The ones on Tinker Toy (252) are special fiberglass parts that are irreplaceable. Scares me to death.

What grit sandpaper did you use on the compass? I need to do that also. I must admit that sanding down the plastic never crossed my mind as a solution. You get a gold star.

I used a 180 grit sanding sponge worked great just took some time. Also adjusted the compass while it was out so it was true north (tiny screws on each side)
