My old 302 with 500's ran 84 gps light load 80 gps any load any day. Full galley and head.

Know 2 33 OL's run 82 ish with 500's

My numbers are GPS not a wish O water meter, real Dyno tested engines, Im not buyin in on mid 80's with a 1000 hp

Had mine up to 78 once.. have 385 a side.

Had a lot left, but had to slow down b/c one of the tires starting bouncing a lil at that speed! :-)

Those Smith Power 540's must have been measured at the distributor....or maybe the water pump :eureka: Surely NOT at the crank. Everyone knows all powerboat HP ratings are at the prop.:stooges:

Stock 500's 470hp rated at the alternator because everybody knows powerboats are rated at the alternator.
