I would think you could build your 496 with forged internals and whipple it and meet your power goal for a lot less money than what merc wants for a 600 sci...don't get me wrong that's a beautiful motor but their prices are insane....I vote build your current motor, buy a scx, and enjoy but I'm cheap so take it for what its worth lol...gonna be sweet either way!!

No decision on a Repower yet. I tossed around a bunch of options over last few months and at this point if we Repower this boat, it will be a 600 sci. I have been looking at Faster Hulls and that is why I have not pulled the trigger yet.

Anyway Funny Story:

Was looking at boats over the weekend and found that Baja Ripped Off my Graphics for a 2019 27 Outlaw. If you look real close...same exact graphics they just changed the colors up a bit.

Decided to take the $ I was going to put into the swap and buy a new boat. It was a tough decision, but the wife wanted something more comfortable with more seating so I sold out and got a new bow rider with a Mercury Racing 400r.

Our Outlaw is being traded in to a dealer in Laconia NH most likely next month.

Ya know, that’s probably a good decision...

Yeah it wasn't easy I tell you.. Even my wife struggled with it.

We did grab a 300 horse Sea Doo rxt-x that runs 70 stock and will run in the high 70s when I am done with a few things so that helps a little!

I hope the wife knows she will not be more comfortable when the water is rough.

Believe me that was one of the issues we struggled with. The new boat should be decent though..Hull is just under 27 feet, 5500 pounds, trim tabs, 8.6 beam and a 20* deadrise. But we realize it wont handle the chop we can see on our Lake when the winds are blowing like the Outlaw, so when those days come around we will be at the Cottage and it will be Corona Time...

Monterey will put a 400r on their M-65. We were able to order ours and pick colors/options etc. So far Great Company to deal with.

Ours should be completed this week and be up North soon. I will report back once I have had a chance to run it.
