You will use more fuel in rough water as well; keep that in mind.

Exactly and the less fuel I have the less I will consume, especially as I will sail faster, I am forced to sail close to the coasts, the boat is in category C, I cannot get away from 2.5 miles from a shelter, not obvious, in the flat sea early in the morning, how long do you think it will take? Besides research the technical sheet of Baja 38 Special so as to know all its specificities, do you know a site? I do not know the capacity of the fuel tanks.

Trip will be near coast

You'll almost certainly need to stop 1/2 way and fill up...it's probably a 180-200 gallon tank (Im guessing!)

Have no idea what your water conditions will be but I am thinking the boat will run better and be more efficient if you try and run around 3500 rpm, closer to peak torque and if much above 30 mph it will free the hull up and not be plowing like I think it may be at 30.

Thanks for all your informations you give me, it will be my 15th boat after 4 years without.
I had some Zodiac, riamar, fourwinn's, Bayliner, Bénéteau..
I thought for the last sold, it was enough for me, but no.

I agree. That’s what I always go by for 3500 rpm cruising, seems to work out.

So in France, we can say, 4 liters for 2 kms, so 1liter/motor/kilomètre
It will be the best return and best confort at 68 kms/heures

If you want better calculations it is 1.6Km... at sea, the over calculated 4/10 chips away from your destination for every hour of fuel burn in a big way at the range you are traveling if you are planning on running lighter on fuel.
