If you look at marine electric fuel pump setups, they are usually mounted close to the engine as possible.....most times with hard lines after the pump going to the engine. If the line breaks feeding the pump the check valve in the tank will stop flow and engine dies and no fuel spilled.......if the line feeding the motor on an in-tank pump setup breaks, then it will flood the bilge with gas. ...........big boom!

Awesome, I was thinking I needed to either pull the tank, have it professionally cleaned before welding or using a bulkhead fitting but I dont trust it wont leak in the floor and turn my boat into a bomb.
That goes into the filler neck? only thing about that is the return fuel line is long to get from the engine to the filler hose?

On your 272 the panel screws are clear as day, not so much on mine. I hope their not buried under caulk and bad things are lurking beneath the floor of this boat?

So it just recirculates it right there and never makes it back to the tank. I assume you still run an inline fuel cooler because I would think your going to superheat the fuel like that alone?
