Fresh,
I live in Wildomar, near Murrieta off I-15. We boat on Mead, Mohave, Havasu, and the Pacific O. I started w/a 232 Islander, then a 25 Outlaw, and my 29 in a 4 year period. I almost went down for 33, but decided against it. I've been to Parker w/my 232, but I don't think it's big enough for my 29 on crowded weekends. I try to stay away from big crowds. My 232 was a blast, great all around family fun. The big boats ride so much nicer, but are a pain in the ass to clean, tow, feed, etc...
How old are you, wife/kids? I am 29 with 2 kids, 2&3, and the old lady. Carl.

Hi Carl.

I am going to Parker with a group of friends that go every year. We usually got to Laughlin but they recommended the Blue Water Casino as they have slips and lanch ramp.

I work for Milgard Windows so am in Temecula pretty regularly. I cover Simi, Temecula, Phoenix and Vegas palnts so will be doing some Mead trips (can get company to pay gas money for tow vehicle!).

Also looking forward to some ocean trips. Start small, maybe San Pedro to Long Beach (Yard House) or Hungtington. Really want to do San Diego (Mission Bay). Any experience there? Would like to eventually work up to Catalina trip.

I am 46, recently seperated (purchased boat after), no kids (just two furry ones..dogs), own a home in Simi Valley. I'm also into hot rods & Harley's, my tow vehicle is a 2001 GMC Sierra C3 (one of about 2900 built) with RCD 6" lift.

My e-mail is [email protected]. Maybe we could get together for a run. I have had a couple boats in the past but this is my first "real" boat. Could certainly use the input of an experienced boater.

I also have a 17'6" flat bottom with Evenrude 120 outboard (now for sale cheap if you know anyone looking - $2900 OBO).

Hey Al,

My buddy also has a 25 Outlaw. I'll let you know when we go to Long Beach and run around the breakwater, Shoreline Village is a fun place to stop for lunch at. That would be a good way to get your feet wet. Mission Bay or San Diego Bay would also be good.
I am in the middle of moving out of my house so it will be a couple weeks before I splash it again. We are planning Mead at the end of May. Our new house will not be finished until the end of June, so we'll be homeless for awhile I'll keep in touch, if you have any questions email me, I may be able to help!

P.S. I'll bet the ride will be much better than your flatbottom!

Hi Carl,

Definitely let me know on your next Long Beach run!

I just spent a little over 900 bucks at West Marine today. I picked up a hand held GPS, radio, slide anchor, and a bunch of little stuff. Then I was prepping the flat to put up for sale.

I plan on spending tomorrow fitting the new boat. It is my first free weekend since bringing it home so want to get prepped and familiar with everything. Sunday morning will be headed to Castaic for a shakedown run. It is not my favorite lake but should be a good place to get the feel of the boat. I’ll bring the digital camera and see if I can remember to take some photos.

Congratulations on your new home! Who is the builder? I deal with most of the major tract builders in So Cal. Moving sucks! Are you putting everything in storage until the new place is done?

I’ll let you know how the weekend goes.

-Al
