I just took my new Baja Outlaw 20 out for the first time.....Absolutely Awesome!!
It rides great and handles like my Vette! I kept looking for rough water but there were only a handful of boats on the lake (Castaic) so it was pretty smooth. Just the opposite of what I do in the flat bottom! I got it up to just under 65 MPH (speedo indicated, I bought a GPS but haven’t read the manual yet) without playing with trim too much. Speed limit on the lake is 35 and out of maybe 15 boats on the lake, 3 were police boats so I could only run flat out for short bursts.
I was only out for about an hour ‘cause my buddy had to get back for Easter stuff. Almost went back out by myself after dropping him off but spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the lake slime off the boat. I can’t wait to get back out. I need to hit a bigger lake or maybe take the plunge (no pun intended!) and put it in the ocean. The closest marina is about 45 minutes from me.
Oh yeah, I brought my digital camera but I was so excited I forgot to take pictures! So no photos of my maiden voyage…bummer! Next time I’ll make up for it.

Oh, I forgot to mention I discovered a couple things. The forward cleats are too far forward. The fenders don’t touch the dock so I will have to add a couple a little aft. And don’t forget to attach the dock lines to the cleats before you ease it up to the dock!
It was a little chilly for So Cal, high 60’s and cloudy. I need to get some better sun glasses for wind protection. I’ll have to use my motorcycling glasses.
Other than that I had no problems what so ever, everything was perfect!

Congrats, the rear cleats on my 29 are in a bad spot. Sounds like you've been bitten by the bug. You'll be shopping for a 33 outlaw before long!

Congrats on the new ride and on it's first ride!
Must have been exhilerating...I remember that feeling well.
You're 20 is shaped much like my old hammer...I, too, know what you mean about the fenders. The cleats are in a bad place and the boat touches the dock before the fender does due to the curvature of the boat. The only thing I could do was get a bigger fender.
