The hook are located in front of the trim tabs, easy to find just by the slide of the hand, comfirm with a straight hedge. They look like integrated trim tabs to the hull, size +-12''x12'' by 3/4'' thick... BudmanII,, I'm surprise your gain was negligible. Maybe your right you'll need new engine to reach more speed, and benefit more gain. The porpoise is cummon on many boats. Trim the drive in a little if you can, or if you have trim tabs drop them a little..

Here is pictures of my hook removal. Grind to the balsa then re-fiber and gellcoat.



Before the removal, notice the 3/4 drop on the right side.
