I'm talking with Scott Financial. They are the people I got the loan for the 25.

Not sure if it's in your price range but our local dealer has a leftover 04 with 498 mags for a reasonable price. They offered it to me last December at $90K including the trailer. They would probably do better now.

Hey pondfather,
I’m so glad you chimed in. What’s the real deal in terms of speed in your 29? I know that the X-dimension on 29’s was raised ¾” in 2002 and that 29’s in model year 2002 and beyond came with 26” 4 blade props (if equipped with regular 496’s). Early on I tried stock 26” 4 blades on my 2001 and lost about 3mph when compared to the stock 25” 3 blades that came with my boat. Since my boat is a 2001, it didn’t have the raised “X”.
After my bad experience with those 4 blades, I continued down the 3 blade path and ended up recording a GPS best of 79.6mph in April of 2004 with 27” 3 blades from Houston Prop. I’m guessing when I say that 29’s with the raised “X” (2002 and beyond) would be incapable of running 3 blade props due to difficulties coming on plane.
BTW – your old 29 is the 2nd best 29 I’ve ever seen. Gotta love the black and red.

29 OL,
You have to understand that the boat is bone stock, I'm 54 years old (I don't have to impress anyone) and my wife is deathly afraid of chine walk. Having said that we have had the boat up to 70 GPS with a full tank on very smooth water. My boat came with 4 blades. As far as Black and Red goes, this boat was a perfect match to my "old" 2001 H2X so when it showed up at the dealer, we were destined to buy it. I would never have parted with it but my wife wants a 40 before we "look too old" to be seen in one.
I am impressed that you were able to get to 79 with HO's.
By the way Bikinilover, If you do talk to me about the 29, be forewarned. You will not have any excuse not to buy that boat from Grand Sport.

Thanks for the reply and it’s nice to see you’re still into it at age 54. I’m an old fart like you but I’ve decided to step away from it.
In terms of the 79.6mph speed in my 29, it really has nothing to do with me. Houston Prop gave me some killer props, the water was just right, the air temp was just right, I had fresh motor oil, and the end result is that I was hauling a$$.

Pondfather, Send me an email [email protected]. I am not set up for PMs and I don't feel like figuring it out. Thanks!

Re: Anybody know this 29?
Well, could not come to an agreement with Grand Sport on the price, so no 29 for me. It really was not the price on the boat it was what they were offering me for my trade. eekk!!
