You have to remember that when I owned the company and built the boats, Everything was done the Cigarette[U] way. My employees were all trained at Cigarette and all the parts and pieces we put on the boats were from the same suppliers.

We have a whole series of phtos that we took at the Cigarette factory, while everyone was being trained. We used the same layup, the same resin mixes, the same gel coat producers.

Don Aronow set me up with the same windshield people that he used for the 28SS and the 35 Mistress and 35 Awesome. Even my first race boat, the hull #1, he had Stan Irwin build the engines for me. Stan was the same engine builder that built the motors for Doc Magoon in his NY run.

When the company was sold, the new owner began to change things. He did not have the same relationship with Don, so a lot of the pieces were not available to him at that time.

OK.....What else do you have left over in storage from back then, and when was the last time you used your 24 Banana.

Now we know where they got the color ideas for Don Johnson's wardrobe in Miami Vice. Can't you just picture Charlie behind the throttles of this Stinger with that coat on.

No. the one in the factory was being rigged for a guy in San Francisco.....the race boat went to dealer in Massachusetts.

This dealer was the one we bought all our outboards from, for the 24 and the smaller boats.

Rick:

I think this is the boat that the hull & deck above became. It's pictured here at Cypress Gardens for a "Powerboat Magazine" advertising thing...

I think it was more of a 70's safety jacket required by the USCG for use in areas with foggy weather.

Keep the pics coming-interesting stuff.
