Post #41 is an interesting set of Banana's

The white used to be red. It is a 1989 and it has twin 200hp, mid eighties vintage (non-counter rotating). The owner claims that he sold it for $24000 and after a short while the guy that bought it said it was too fast for his wife and sold it back to him for $12,000?

But for $24,000 you can buy it today.....owe and he is advertising it as a 1991... :stupid:

The black one was a very sad story.

I was going to buy that boat back in 1999 when it was for sale for 11,000 with a 1998 Mercury 225 and a new aluminum trailer. It was advertised as a 1987. It originally had twins, but the owner replaced the transom and bought a new single Merc instead.

I passed and a year later found my current boat.

The next owner of the black Banana was a guy in Bedford Mass. Nice kid, but not very boat savy and lost a lot of money when he sold it for $3500.

I was going to buy it and take the trailer and the motor and give the hull to my brother, but when I went to look at it....the motor didn't work and the trailer needed work.

I passed and the guy with the white boat bought it for $3500. Sold the trailer for like $3000 the next day.

But for $8000 you can own the black hull and motor today.... owe and he is advertising it as a 1991..... :stupid:

I had a 1978 28' ss Cig. with twin 280 trs. I loved it but it was heavy and slow.
Was or is there a 28' Banana or Cig. built with a single?

Pat stay tuned...you would be amazed at what can be done with modern technology and much better engine packages.

As you know we don't want any association with the past builder, so to avoid all confusion on anyone's part, we will start a whole new series of numbers.

post 49 is hull #7. Post 50 is hull # 25 or 26 I believe...about 1979 or 80. The records are better on the earlier ones...
