Sure. Yeah He has a house on Winnisquam.

Air Dog 05-10-2005 06:24 AM

With the exception of "Hells Banana", I bet "Beep Beep" is the fastest Banana around.

470hp on a bracket....ye haaa!

That would be a sweet Banana to own.

Oh it was a fun ride! Not everyday you get to take a test ride with an ex racer!

Air Dog 05-11-2005 07:16 PM

Fruitta,

Dude, your gonna love your trailer.

I just dragged mine from my Brothers house to Portsmouth. Very very nice.

My boat now looks 15 years younger.

Glad to here that. Which boat was on it?

Air Dog 05-12-2005 07:46 AM

The White one...

Re: Finally got a trailer

Got back from Florida, Sunday at 7:30pm! Your right Chris the new trailer is sweet! And Tim was a great guy to deal with.

I was wondering how I can adjust my trailer so its close to right before I swap this weekend? Also could you tell me what height to put the bow stop at?

Thanks,
Adam

Air Dog 06-07-2005 07:50 PM

Bow stop can only go one of two places on that trailer in order to fit the Banana hull, it all depends on how heavy your motor is.

Jeb helped me adjust mine.

The winch stand on mine is just inside where the two aluminum I beams come together. This was great with out the motor.

Last night I mounted the motor to the bracket and now the nose is too light.

You should have 10% of total weight on the tongue to be safe on the road.

Right now I have about 3% so I will need to move the stand forward to just in front of where the I-beams come together.

As for the winch itself, I will measure it tomorrow.

Did you get the forward bunks?

How was the trip.

Congrats on the upgrade.

I guess I had the coolest trailer for a few months anyway... :D

Re: Finally got a trailer

The trip wasn't to bad. Lots of driving for three days, but not bad. Almost took out the front of some snowbirds Lexus in New York! He decided he wanted to drive right into the side of the trailer while merging. But I noticed it before he hit it and all was good.

Yes, I got the forward bunks, Posi-lubes, discs on both axles, radial tires, and a spare tire with mount and hub.

Pretty much the same as yours except its the 24-26' model with 6,000# cap.

Towed very nice at 80 - 85 the whole way home from Florida.

Re: Finally got a trailer

New trailer is just flat out awesome!!! Motor wouldn't start when we went to switch trailers and it still loaded easier than the old one did when I could use the motor. Just like you said very minor adjustments needed and then it fit like a glove!

Air Dog 07-13-2005 11:43 AM

Got any pictures of your boat on the new trailer?

Re: Finally got a trailer

Not yet. You? I'll take one of the Rotten Banana on it when I take the other pics I need to post.

Air Dog 07-13-2005 04:13 PM

I do have pics, but I am unable to post them for some reason.

Can't wait to get my new computer.

Here is the boat on the new trailer. I put new plexi in the anchor light holes and painted the trim rings white. Looks a little better now.

Re: Finally got a trailer

Air Dog, I have the same exact brand trailer under my, hate to say it, 25 Outlaw. Trailer is great and at 26 feet, only ways 800 pounds.

Will float in the water from side to side though when you are loading. You'll get used to it though.

Re: Finally got a trailer

Trailer looks great!!! Do you have a name and phone where you bought it ??? Need one for a 33' and the prices are killing me THANKS obads 31

Air Dog 10-18-2005 07:39 AM

G Man - Yes, after I dunk the trailer, the right side of it slowly floats up... I don't have the trailer guides installed though. I am wondering if that would be enough weight to keep in down?

obads 31 - I bought my trailer at BOAT TUNE in Orlando Florida. I literally called every boat trailer dealer in Florida over a few weeks period and this was the best deal I could work up with out question.

Just ask for Tim at BOAT TUNE and tell him that Chris Chapman from NH recommended him. Also, let him know that I briefed you on the tipping procedure at pick up. Budweiser Long Necks.... :D

Unlike most of the dealers that were firm on their price, he was relatively new and trying to build his business so he was more negotiable, plus his cost of options was the lowest I found.

Good luck!

Re: Finally got a trailer

Yup, Tim is the MAN. I bought one from him shortly after Chris, and there price was well worth the three days of driving hell I went through to get down there and back. And compared to shopping here up north, I got a pretty much optioned out trailer from them for close to half the price of a bare bones up here. Plus Tim was great to deal with.

How did that work out with no brakes?
I only ask because I'm picking up #14 on Sunday, has twins on back and no brakes on the trailer at all.

I only have a 15 hour drive home through about 4 hours of mountains on the OR/CA border.

The kind that have 6 mile, steep downhill straights ending in a hard rt turn, hanging over a river. over and over again

Towing behind a diesel Excursion.

Re: Finally got a trailer

Evan, my last trailer had no brakes either. I picked it up in New York with the boat on it and towed it home with an f-150. No real problems Not the type of ride you have on your hands though. It was about a 3 or 4 hour ride if I remember right. Just take it easy and keep the tranny out of overdrive so that the motor can do some of the braking for you, and you should be fine.

Glad to hear that your finnaly getting your hands on the old girl! Good luck with it!

Re: Finally got a trailer

my magic loader trailer is basically the same as yours and I have the poles on mine that seems to stop any floating  I BOUGHT MY TRAILER FROM JEB BACK IN 94 OR 95 6000LB, IT WAS HIS 1990 THAT HAD THE GREEN BANANA ON IT. I BACK MINE DOWN TO WHERE THE BACK TIRES ARE UNDER WATER AND FRONT ARE STICKING OUT. I THEN GIVE A LITTLE TAP ON THE 647HP ON SHE GOES PERFECT, JUST ABOUT EVERYTIME  .IF THE TIRES ARE BOTH UNDER WATER THE BOAT SHIFTS AROUND, SO IF YOU TRY THE PIPES FOR A GUIDE AND DON'T PUT THE FRONT TIRES ALL THE WAY UNDER MAYBE IT WON'T FLOAT. ART PS I WAS THINKING ABOUT UP GRADING TO DISK BRAKES THIS WINTER.?
