Fountain38sc is exactly correct!!! I just checked the Ebay store andthis is an inventory clear out sale, I was at Trick about 5 weeks ago and was amazed at how little was "in stock" if you wanted anodized cup holders, mismatched gauges, little pieces/parts or steering wheels you were in the right place!!! Anything else of real boating value was absent.
This is not bashing or instagating, this is fact...

I Feel sorry for The Cecil Family on the human basis. But
I did a for me a big order what I payed march 3th this year. Instruments, trimpanels, throttle controls, trim swithes and a lots of things like that. At the same time I orderd and payed Life lines #100, 2x XL, 2x L & 1xMedium. After many weeks the gaffrigs finaly came,,,WRONG serie,,, trim switches WRONG,,,waiting a long time for the breathers and the fuel filter adapters as well... Fred did almost never respond any call or email. When I finaly used this forum (where TrickMarine had their market) to try to get Freds attention some people here just started like "Trick is the best dealer" "Hey Fred, the drink holders came yesterday THANKS" "Dont blame Fred, he's busy" bla bla bla bla etc. Now I wana ask the SUPERLATIVE-Guys :
Were are our Life Line's?!?
To the "human Fred": step back for a while get your things together and go back to boating.

The Marine Parts business is tough. I work part time at a large boating retail chain and know how bad it can be. A pleasure boat customer can be your best friend or turn on you in a heartbeat when things don't go as planned. I've been burned quite a few times due to circumstances beyond my control. I'm seasoned now and do not promise dates on special order items or anything not in the store.
Fred went way out of his way to take care of my order for less than 500 bucks but he was genuine in his interest in helping me get the right parts and beat everyone else in price. I hate that his business did not work out for him.

[QUOTE=rexone;2342945] nor did I support Trick's method of heavy discounting. It's a business model for disaster. Fred and I had an email conversation once on the subject of heavy discounting, virtually selling at any price for the sake of selling.
You are 100% correct!!! I think Fred also made his competition angry with this practice, which probably went back to his suppliers who in turn wanted him to raise his prices.

There are a number of unfortunate circumstances surrounding the Trick situation, Fred, customers, suppliers, etc. However I can't help but feel that a significant disservice to the forum environment has been committed by members of OSO itself. I can't count how many times a low count or even a higher count poster would come on here and describe a situation or complain about Trick service only to be shot down by Trick flag wavers, and there are quite a few of them. The member would basically be bludgeoned into submission by these members. After seeing this gang mentality, those who would have posted siding with the original poster would not do so in fear of receiving the same treatment and I can't blame them one bit. So in dealing with the actual Trick service facts we now have a situation where the forum's credibility is now in question in my mind. Above all else we want to trust the members of the board to do the right thing, but obviously this needs to be tempered with one's own good judgement. This is bad on so many levels it hurts.
