The member would basically be bludgeoned into submission by these members. After seeing this gang mentality, those who would have posted siding with the original poster would not do so in fear of receiving the same treatment and I can't blame them one bit. So in dealing with the actual Trick service facts we now have a situation where the forum's credibility is now in question in my mind. Above all else we want to trust the members of the board to do the right thing, but obviously this needs to be tempered with one's own good judgement. This is bad on so many levels it hurts.
Well said.

Thanks rexone! I am sorry to see this go down, but I am glad that the truth is coming out.

So true, and through the years I have seen a lot on this board.

Don't go outing me, this is not my work. I have no dog in this fight nor do I want one. The IP address in question is not from my computer however, I have used the laptop from which those posts came and from what I understand that is the association.

Let me make it very clear. I obviously know who Hamilton is and he wishes to stay anonymous. This is none of my business and if he wishes he can come out. Enjoy all speculations to the contrary.

I have stayed as far away from this hotwire as possible. Fred is well liked and some here will defend him to the bitter end. The facts to the contrary however are coming out from those directly involved, why add more.

Fred and I have had our differences over the years. In fact, there have been some pretty ugly discussions behind the scenes. Neither he nor I brought it into the public forum and I respected that of him. With his popularity on this site I would have been toast and he knew it. We have long since resolved our business issues and made amends. This is a VERY hard business to be in, particularly now. Problems like this only hurt the industry as a whole and make it yet more difficult for small marine businesses to get a foothold. Hopefully all will be resolved and I trust Trick Marine will do the right thing. On a personal level Fred and his daughter Joy are very nice people, however... business is business.

Ya. It hurts. I was one of those flag wavers, guilty as charged...and I do feel guilty about it now. I still to this day don't have anything bad to say about Fred as all my dealings were 100% to my satisfaction, but like many of you said, the writing was on the wall, I saw it, but I guess I wanted to believe those cases were one-offs and not a trend...

Sounds good in my book, I can respect that. Thanks for the clarification.

Fred took his ball and left the court atleast 2 times in the past and vowed never to return,,, That was until he dediced to start a marine parts business and make money off forum members... I don't ever remember him being tossed..

No, not kidding. While I don't disagree 100%, it's been proven here over and over again on OSO that if you don't go along with the majority, it comes back to bite you.

It's no different on OSO than any other forum. It's just reality. If in fact Lofty, who we have had great dealings with, is in fact Hamilton, maybe it's just a matter of gathering the facts/comments vs begging for coming out.

Once again......
