And I guess either it was hard for me to explain, or you didn't understand. Post count doesn't mean anything, but if you want to be a member, I just think you should contribute to more than one post. Offer some of your knowledge, or ask a question of the others here, or get involved in some of the friendly banter or tell a story of an experience you've had. Don't just jump on one thread that is very heated. I'm sure there are few here that picked up a second screen name just to post on this thread. BTW - welcome to OSO. |
I agree with the post count meaning nothing. Also never understood the need to know names of low count posters. Hell, I don't know the names of 99.9% of the members here, and most of the ones I do chat with. And even if I did, it would serve no purpose to me, other than being able to address them by their name vs screen name.
It doesn't take long to figure out by the tone of a post to determine who's on the up n up. |

Don't know what the final $$ figure will be, but so far, it's not that much. Granted, it sounds like the customer service in several cases was sub-par. Btw, I won. |

No, I absolutly agreed with you. I just wanted to name some big time "former" posters for others that may have forgotten. I have no agenda on this thread. I bought about $500 from Trick, and it all came in a few days with no issues.
It seems like you and a few others understand that post count doesn't mean anything. But there are some posts in this thread by people with huge posts counts and what apears to be their own agenda. Likewise, on the thread that was deleted, there were some people that had very low counts that seemed to have an agenda too. So as you said, post count should not mean anything. US1 Fountain called it right. Liek him, I know a lot of people here personally. If I don't know you or you don't know me, thats fine too. Most of us can usually read through the BS. Man up, say what you have to say behind your own name. Don't take that as accusatory to yourself, I mean nothing against you personally. It's just when I see a new name that has 19 posts on a single thread, all about the same thing and deragatory, I assume they have an agenda. I could be very wrong, I have been before. I can usually read through the BS too, not always, but usually I can. When I can read through it, I'd rather point it out. It's interesting how this thread has turned to being less about Trick, and more about honesty and integrity. |
hmm Haven't been around in a while. looks like everything is going down the drain around here :D
Never thought i would see a good guy start using these business practice's. ohh well we'll if anyone needs it.. the BAT is for rent and is willing to come out retirement :evilb: Travis :party-smiley-004: |

I know it's winter and all... :drink: |
will the real fred cecil please stand up!!!
i have done business with fred cecil for 2 year's & spent somewhere around 7,000 at trick. fred cecil was often busy with a customer, but when i spkok to him he always seemed helpful & i got the impression that he was a pretty nice guy who cared & wanted you to be happy as a customer. i called about 15 boat places nationwide, only got about answers out of half & confirmed prices out of half of them. fred was by far the lowes't, ( no one was close ). the project was very detailed, i made an exact template of my outer transom, pictures of a gutted engine compartment, outside, bottom, you name. i delt directly with konrad "a-lot"(what's up fred sparling?") my uppers, gimbal's, & boxes are all 3 purple & lower's powder coated chrome. i asked question after question & was assured that i was getting everything i needed, "everything in the ad picture was included". "even the prop?" "ok you don't get the prop". so this order was placed 1 week prior to the miami boat show, because of that 2-3 weeks were added. i also at that time ordered 8 purple billet engine mounts, 3 billet purple p/s bracket's, returnd a billet p/s pump that blew up 1st. time out( stilll haven't got my warranty replacement back 9months now), or the 3 power steering brackets that i paid for. so the end of july rolls around & i get 3 pallets delivered to me at 1800.00 higher then i was quoted for shipping, what ever i just want my boat back. right? wrong. i needed, trans. oil coolers, lines, mounts, port & strp. rear enging mounts & bells, center engine drive line & exhaust, all 3 shift cable mounts, all 3 water pick up's, all 3 sea strainers, water lines, flex drive plates whatever's blah blah blah blip blip blip. another 8,000 later my complete package still had to be PURPLE. i am still waiting on shift cable brackets & the billet "trick tabs" sea strainers about 7-8,000 in already paid for parts. believe me there is much much more to this, like i had my boat at a shop for so long my year in advance paid for storage unit thought i had moved & rented to someone else, 7 months of not being there & bye-bye 1 mile from the lake enclosed secured storage unit, with free ice. oh and my insurance of 3600.00 that got paid sometime in march, would love to get that back. after 9 1/2 months of this i am sure there are other details left out but i think you get a clearer picture now. i feel bad to see a place go down like i am sure they have. i have heard nothing on anything explaning what happened, but hope the very best for all involved.
thank you rich arellano |
True, they always talked shiit about Troutly on that "other" forum. You don't necessarily have to be a long-time OSO member to know about him.
|
Rich, not trying to say "I told you so" here, call me and I'll help you out, we need more big V's on Shasta. :D This isn't about winning over customers, I know that the price you where quoted was so low that it could not have come close to including everything this boat would need to be re-rigged.
Regardless, I mean this, call or email and I will help you out as much as I can. I know your taking it in the shorts on this one. Jayboat your avitar is SICK! |
