Finger pointing is not the way to win over a competitors ex-customers.. No one wants to hear "I told your so"...

I'm going back to my old signature, "Bite Me". :angry-smiley-038:

I re-read what I wrote and understand where you got that impression. Point taken and noted. Didn't mean to come across that way but I guess I'm still bitter at loosing a very large sale to someone who had no costs other than a phone call.

I'll try to edit myself in the future.

"even the prop?" "ok you don't get the prop". so this order was placed 1 week prior to the miami boat show, because of that 2-3 weeks were added. i also at that time ordered 8 purple billet engine mounts, 3 billet purple p/s bracket's, returnd a billet p/s pump that blew up 1st. time out( stilll haven't got my warranty replacement back 9months now), or the 3 power steering brackets that i paid for. so the end of july rolls around & i get 3 pallets delivered to me at 1800.00 higher then i was quoted for shipping, what ever i just want my boat back. right? wrong. i needed, trans. oil coolers, lines, mounts, port & strp. rear enging mounts & bells, center engine drive line & exhaust, all 3 shift cable mounts, all 3 water pick up's, all 3 sea strainers, water lines, flex drive plates whatever's blah blah blah blip blip blip. another 8,000 later my complete package still had to be PURPLE. i am still waiting on shift cable brackets & the billet "trick tabs" sea strainers about 7-8,000 in already paid for parts. believe me there is much much more to this, like i had my boat at a shop for so long my year in advance paid for storage unit thought i had moved & rented to someone else, 7 months of not being there & bye-bye 1 mile from the lake enclosed secured storage unit, with free ice. oh and my insurance of 3600.00 that got paid sometime in march, would love to get that back. after 9 1/2 months of this i am sure there are other details left out but i think you get a clearer picture now. i feel bad to see a place go down like i am sure they have. i have heard nothing on anything explaning what happened, but hope the very best for all involved.
thank you

Did you contact OSO about this?

Here are the results of my visit to Trick. I took these pictures about 8:00pm on Sunday the 25th of Nov, 2007. Pictures are of the office at Trick Marine where I have visited on previous occasions to pick up parts. Picture quality isn't the best due to dirty windows and the flash on the camera. I will let the pictures speak for themself. Rob Whitney (910)524-5438

What a shame! I can't believe this! Deep down I was hoping people would start posting that they got a refund in the mail. I may be crazy thinking that way. Things must have been really bad at Trick. Usually if a company goes ot of business the creditors don't get paid and the business owner moves on. In this case Fred built his business from OSO and his friends. He got into it because boating was his passion and he turned it into a business. I couldn't imagine loosing my business, having all of my friends effected by it and having to in turn get out of the origional passion that got me into business. (did i say that right?). It's really a shame this had to happen like this. I am very surprised. The creditors being owed, that's terrible but unfortunatly it's part of business but all of the loyal customers that sent money, that one blows me away.

Rule#1

Never make your hobby a business

Rule #2

Never get in the boating business if you think it's easy and you're going to get rich!
