I've been involved in the operations of many companies large and small. If one vendors price looks too low then it's time to get worried, they've missed something or will hit you with a price escalation later. |

Rich - If in fact the Konrad Ace Package you received was not complete, then there was something wrong and it wasn't Konrad. I have installed the Konrad Ace on my own boat and every part, nut, bolt and washer was there in the crate - including drive and trans fluid! As a dealer for Konrad, I cannot let this slide as a Konrad issue. If there is anything I can do relating to the Konrad Drives, please let me know. Sincerely, Kirk Jurinek Elite Marine, Inc. |
BTW Rich, if you still need help just call, you're not too far away from us. I'de like to see that Konrad package working, I was looking forward to that project. Looked like a good challenge. Let me know what parts your short and I'll help you get it sorted.

Hopefully you didn't cut a full size opening for the center drive? |

Yeah... good story. I quoted that drive package to you COMPLETE!!! I spent a huge amount of time getting the package spec'd and thinking through the process. I know Fred came in with a lowball bargain basement price and stole the deal out from under me. I would have driven up to your shop and helped you with that install, it was not going to be straight forward and you would need help getting the whole deal to work. I'm sorry this happened to you but when you do business with companies that quote prices LOWER than actual cost and don't have any knowledge or experience with the components they are selling this is what happens.

Understood. The point being is like you said, as usual a low ball price was quoted and then the customer needed more parts. I've heard that a few dozen times regarding the headers too!!
Rich - I'm sure Lofty will straighten it all out if you haven't already. They know their stuff! If there are any Konrad or Gaffrig customers that got caught up in this mess, please let me know if I can help. |
