Geez Air, she does have a job! :D You know, the kind you get paid to do. :D
Actually, I think most people tend to forget that being a mod isn't something these folks get paid to do. They volunteer to mind the store for a bunch of us boating nuts because they enjoy boating and the board. They get drawn into things they would probably rather not be and have to play referee when grown-ups forget their manners. And there are times they take a lot of chit without a lot of thanks. Have you thanked your Mods today? :D |

I missed this thread over there. http://www.seriousoffshore.com/forum...ad.php?t=17708
"Finally made the switch from OSO to SOS, the ugly" And posts over there keep disappearing? Amazing what some will do to get better Google results. |

Not sure what it is that make the weirdo tick, but I will tell you he thinks he is one tough guy behind the keyboard:drink:
I think this is one of his best post on SOS Quote from SOS: Great point. Was having a chitty day and would have preferred to strangle a couple of people but they were poking the bear from hundreds of miles away. My arms are long, but not that long. You're very close to the truth about the playground thing- board members have told me that he posted all day, every day in the boardroom on practically every subject that ever came up. Too bad he was/is so self-absorbed that he didn't realize that everyone else was sick of his tiresome drivel. Add that to the fact that he bought your Apache to impress his multi-Apache-ownin' idol and it's easy to see that his little world has been turned upside down. Breaks my heart- let's get back to the star of the show. |

Rob, I've been a member here since 12/03 most of that time a paying member. I don't post here often because I've never felt welcomed or comfortable here. I can't really explain why, but I feel like I don't belong here. Not just from the IB years either. It's hard to relax here.
Over there, never paid a dime for membership, felt welcomed comfortable and almost like I was wanted there. Adam One thing I do remember, before SOS was created, there was a mass exodus of members and they joined Boatfreaks.org.... After they joined (I won't say names), they began making demands to the Boatfreaks moderators that certain functions "must" be added (like chat for instance) in order for them to "hang out there." With that being said, the moderators and folks behind the scenes who own the site, MADE IT HAPPEN... Then SOS came along and they completely abandoned ship, even though their "demands" were met... That's a pretty f'ed up thing to do, no? Sounds like they wanted their "own" playground...:drink: I never felt welcomed at Speedwake, no biggie, I don't add content there. I felt welcomed at SOS, because I was invited by someone I respect, even though I never really cared much for Sunkin but that's just me. But I do admit, there was a certain SOS "clique" I wasn't a part of and I think every forum has it. I later learned a lot of my OSO friends were hanging out there, so I began adding content but then started seeing the writing on the wall a year ago and some of my good friends were being pulled into "deals" that had no legs.. I began to question further and noticed all the pieces didn't add up. If you research some of my posts here on OSO and there on SOS dating back quite a ways, you'll see I had questions all along the way... They were subtle questions, not drawing any alarm, but it was my own way of doing checks and balances. Then when things started to surface I began asking direct questions of Chris early this year, of which my posts were deleted and even received a nice nasty gram from Sunkin to cease and desist... Even the moderators, who now left called me and asked me to be quiet because they wanted to salvage the site... Because I was asked to be quiet by Craig, I kept quiet on the forums and let it take its course. At that point I put SOS out of my mind and moved on, never adding content since around late March early April timeframe? But the issues were in the forefront well before I stopped contributing... Some of those issues with my friends are still not closed but it's not my place, so I remain silent. Will I go back to SOS? I don't know... Not now, that's for sure... Maybe at a later date when this all blows over... For now I'm just going boating and spending time with my new family and keeping my internet boating to a minimum.:drink: |

So it is a double standard to me that he is allowed to threaten violence on people in his posts. Very angry and bitter. Ironic that he comes across as the same type of keyboard commando that he so obviously loathes.

You know what Frank ... thats one thing thats always bothered me too ... the mass exodus to Boatfreaks and then the exit. The guys that run Boatfreaks are great guys and were more than generous to everybody. I still wear my Boatfreaks apparel proudly .... burnt my Serious shirt over a year ago :D Some of us never planned on leaving OSO and didnt ... even through all the changes and moves to other places. Anyway, I want to take this opportunity to apologize to the guys at Boatfreaks. I hope you never felt slighted because of me - and if you did I am truly sorry  |

There is room for all of us, and thats why we try to play nice with everyone. After all, all of us are here first because of our boats, and through them, we all made friends. Thats a good thing |

EDIT: I could have set it so that you could see posts, but not pictures, but we wanted people to be able to see everything or nothing. |

Understood :), I was new here once myself, I just started posting and talking to people, did lots of reading and asking questions in the beginning. It may have something to do with the fact that there are so many members here we are all little fish in a big pond, and there we were all bigger fish in a smaller pond? Regardless we are all here for fun and to share our sea tales and enjoy a like sport, there are lots of the sports heroes that post and read and here you can talk with them, it can be intimidating. I started posting here when I had my formula, I like the fact that any boat/boater can ask questions. Since IB has taken over I have noticed guys asking questions about crown-lines and cobias, and lots of people chime in..when ya really look at it, the running gear is the same, just a diff shape of fiberglass surrounding it. Glad you're here and post away :)

Whether or not it happened, I dont care, but it was funny. Maybe when your hatred of the scumbag eases you too may develop a sense of humour ;) |

The question being, what would make someone "invent" a story like that? Surely it would indicate a much deeper mental issue than just patholigical lieing wouldn't it?
Combined with that really weird post about being excited by young girls and (non existant) pool parties, it kinda sends up some distress flags for me. |
