Kidapache Rip Off......
 

So i bought some Carbs (four 1050 dominators and flame arrestors from Kidapache) sent him the money and he was supposed to send my package. Well i got the carbs no problem but no flame arrestors, i called him about the shipping numbers to see if i can track down the missing box. He tells me the carbs were in 2 boxes and the flame arrestors were in another box "taped" to one of the boxes with the carbs. Right off the start im thinking why would UPS tape a box to another box? I look at the packaging and the weights were the same on both boxes. If for some reason they did tape it to the other box, the weights would be different... But NOPE they are EXACTLY the same weight and there is NO sign What so ever of any tape being on the other boxes.... This Guy must think people are stupid to try and pull a fast one on them and think they are going to believe that ****ty ass story.. Ive tried Calling, Texting, Emailing, Pm'ing.....With NO Response....Funny how people are johnny on the spot when they are trying to take your money....but once they have it.....GONE!!!

Never dealt with him. Tried buying some ignition boxes but got a bad feeling and backed out. Hope he makes good...

blast him all over the forums!!! he always seemed shady not getting a membership and posting pics of stuff when your selling 30 k worth of drives, 50k for motors, hundreds of thousands of dollars in parts... cant pony up the 49.95 for a membership??? what a sh!tbag

I sold him some engine blocks no problems, he paid and arranged shipping.

Hope things are made rite. I always got a weird vibe from that dude, never a issue with him thought.

Were the shipping labels done online? If so he could very well have entered the weights online and left them the same and he could have taped one box to another. Now if the labels are handwritten or printed off from ups then they would have weighed them.

I always use online shipping and I am sure I have "estimated" weights off a few times.

Now the lack of response is a different story.

Bought some trim pumps from him a while back, everythnig went well.

I'd think early April is enough time to figure something out... The stickers were printed from UPS not hand written and it said 2 of 2 there were only 2 shipped. The air cleaners were never sent he just had a bull **** story on how the lady misplaced it at the store... Ok if she did... Where is it?? That's why I put insurance on the packages I send .. ( For the full replacement price) not a lousey 100 bucks. Ya win some and loose some but come on buddy make it right!!

he buys and sells a lot,seems pretty stupid to ruin a reputation ,i hope he makes it right,and right away,the power of oso catches up to members who screw other members.

A lot of forums won't let non-paying members into the buy and sell threads.....just saying

I have bought and sold stuff from a lot of non-paying members. And all have gone flawless.

Nothing against you but I would buy from a long time non-paying member before I would purchase from a 1 month paying member.

I'm not saying it's a cure, far from it .... everyone builds their own reputation, good or bad. I've bought from non paying members on other forums as well if they had a good rep. I know the 1 month thing was a stab at me, thats ok...I'm not a kid, just new here. I'm 55 and I pay my way and have never screwed anyone. I would rather help someone out if I can.
Same with paying for a membership. I appreciate the help and advice I have already got on OSO, thats why I paid for a membership. The site doesn't run for free.

Not trying to pass blame but did you request insurance on this transaction? If he shipped with insurance, did UPS reimburse him for the lost package? I also ship stuff with insurance and I pay for it myself so I don't get screwed if/when the receiver tries to claim the stuff I sold them is damaged/lost.

Not sure what to make of this whole thing because we only know one side. But in his defense, even if he came on here and told his side, I don't think everyone would be unbiased and see things with an open mind. It's unfortunate.

:poopoo:deal was made 3 months ago and he has not yet made it right,and him not defending himself sais alot,i wont buy anything from him. i believe this section is working,as far as warning others of deals gone bad.thanks for the heads up big farmer.

My issue is that he uses OSO to support his BUSINESS and will not even buy an individual membership. He doesn't contribute in any forums.
He just uses the Swap Shop to sell parts and boats for his BUSINESS.

Im suprised he sells much, his stuff always seems way overpriced and I dont see many replies to his ads?

In all fairness to Paul, as usual there is 2 diff sides.
1. Paul (kidapache) only handled the transaction for one of his clients.
2. check was made to different individual.
3. Air cleaners were thrown in as a freebie.
4. 3 boxes were taken to shipping packing facility, counter person was packing and was supposed to attach 3rd box (air cleaners) to one of the others, this didnt get done obviously.
5. When contacted Paul apologized and offer to send two cleaners that he had lying around, he was accused of being a thief.

As for Pauls character, I trust him. he is like me blunt, people sometimes don't like that but he isn't a thief, and anyone that takes the time to get to know him likes him.

Farmer, you got the parts you paid for, unfortunately the freebies got lost. In the interest of fairness to all the members I think you have a responsibility to report all the details. just keepin it real y'all.. :)

im curious as to why he did not come on here and say what you just said,also,how did you get this information?

He is my friend and I called him, we talk a few times a week, after being called a thief after helping people out, he said he wasn't going to respond. Same thing I told Bill Yorkman to tell you the other night.

well as we all know ,their is 2 sides to every story,or even 3,bigfarmer did not mention all the details and his post did cast a bad light on kidapachie,but if someone calls me a thief,im going to defend myself,maybe bigfarmer needs to post all the details NOW.as far as telling bill yorkman to tell me something,i dont see him very often,but we do email sometimes,a pm is the best way to relay anything to me.thanks for the info.

After talking to him on the phone and being called a thief he cut off communication, why try to reason with an unreasonable person?

Why didn't farmer tell everyone in the beginning all the details.

I wouldn't be upset to see this section disappear, too many people cry wolf and there is a code of conduct for people that purchase as well as sellers. Most seem to forget that. Anyhow, I've said all I need to here. He got everything he paid for.

But did Farmer decide to do the deal because the "freebies" were included? If "free" is used to induce a deal, and therefore included, it is not really free at all and if they were included in the total transaction, he is entitled to them, no?

Ok I'll comment on this because technically you could be correct,however I'll explain UPS shipping guidelines as I was a driver for 12 years.

In this instance the person at the packing facility taped the arresters to one of the other boxes, in shipping it got lost. Once a product at UPS is damaged or comes apart or is separated with no consignee or shipping info attached directly to the product, it goes to a Dept in each UPS hub called "overgoods" where a clerk will try to find info on it and either return or forward it to the proper location.

If that is not possible it get put in a trailer with all the other merchandise from "overgoods" and is auctioned off to the highest bidder, just like in storage wars.

I just had a lower unit shipped to me yesterday UPS, I told the guy I bought it from to make sure he put a label on the drive itself.
he did and everything was perfect.

Back to this shipment, if the labels say 1 of 2 and 2 of 2, then as far as UPS is concerned both made it, a "piggyback" box that was damaged or taped to one of them was not a registered pkg in the shipment, as it was taped to another box. As for the details of whether they were the deal closer I don't know, but he was offered another set free of charge to make up for it.

My advice for you guys buying and selling is to make sure its all pkgd properly, to avoid these situations and things will go much smoother, unfortunate, yes, but a ripoff no.
