I think you should gather up about 25 snakes and place them in his cabin at night, from his picture he doesn't look like the type of guy that would like snakes.

Or, if you can get close to his unattended boat, some of this in the engine oil does the trick http://www.ebay.com/itm/SODIUM-SILIC...-/260864319776

Sometimes karma needs a push

Well, good news, our stolen trailer was recovered this week and I was able to verify that when they ran the new VIN tag thats on it, it came back to the original idiot that I saw with it months back and he said he borrowed it! So now there is a warrant out for the dummies arrest!

For all the career criminal wannabes out there, when you steal a trailer, dont let your buddy use it to take pictures of his boat to list for sale on Craigslist 2 towns away! This is how I found it again this time! What a dumbass. I knew I would find it again at some point and now once he is arrested, this chapter of our life will be done finally and the insurance company can recoupe some of the money for it now that its theirs again!

Great news!

On a side note check with your insurance for a buy back option. They will usually cut you a pretty good deal to save them handling and auctioning. This will also give you an opportunity to recoupe funds you lost when you resell for a profit

I have some paperwork I need to get to them and I have a buddy that is in the transport business that wants it if the insurance company sells it for the right price.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the part that really sucks here is if he did successfully sell it on Craigslist, the buyer would have been screwed as well the first time he went to plate it and it came back stolen? Thieves are bastxxxx!

The way I read it, it already had a new vin plate. Too easy to get them nowadays. Just glad it's been resolved.

Might be worth filing a claim for your $ troubles in small claims court. In my state you can file for at least $3500. Put a lean on the guys boat. In six months you can file to have it auctioned off. You get your $. The guy loses his boat. Life is good.

He had registered it in his name 3 days after he stole it and had a new VIN tag on it so he was legal since he told the DMV it was home made! The add it was listed with stated the trailer in the picture was not included but they have many trailers available.

My 8 year old could have done a better job on the paint job. This in spots and they never even took the wheels off to do it since they have all sorts of red over spray on them. They were even so lazy that they didnt even paint 90% of the bottom of it. Only paint on the bottom is what over spray made it there to hide the white from a distance.

Insurance company is getting it back and will resell it and that will be the end of this mess. I dont need it as we actually traded the boat and the new trailer in on a new one in Nov.

glad you got it back. f-word thieves. at least you were able to finish doing the police's job for them. my home was burglarized on 2011, i figured out who did it, by asking everyone in the neighborhood got the information to the detective, he's actually a friend of mine... and he still coudlnt get a warrant for the guy. i lost about 12k worth of items. i live vicariously through stories like yours i'm glad he got caught.
