PayPal ALWAYS will take the word of the buyer, no matter what, always and forever.

I had a guy return an empty box to me, showed where it was delivered (delivery confirmation, no signature required) and that was enough for PayPal to refund him.

Buyer/Seller beware- PayPal SUCKS!!

Not true about PayPal. They are no worse than accepting credit cards. I am an eBay seller and sell $5K items. As long as I can provide proprer shipping and tracking numbers they have always sided with me. Yes sometimes your money is tied up for 30 days but it's the same when somebody makes a credit card claim. Have all your ducks in a row when your the seller and you won't get burned by PayPal.

If you accept payment for anything through paypal just make the buyer make it a personal payment. Since it is a personal deal like a gift or money owed there are technically no goods changing hands.

No goods means no tracking as you are not shipping anything and there is no buyer protection through paypal as your not selling anything. This way once the deal is done, it is done. A person can not try and get money back and paypal will tell you so.

Sorry but it is true about PayPal. They are much worse than any credit cards. PayPal will not even look at documents proving delivery was satisfactory, I know this for a fact. All your customer has to do is say he wasn't satisfied and you're out the money. Luckily I always transferred the funds out of the account right away but they tried to take my money. I would use them if I was buying an item but never never use PayPal if you're the seller.

It's funny how those replies always have the same seemingly overwhelming cooperation, fairly easy to identify once you've had a few.

all you have to do is follow paypals rules and you will be fine one of the biggest things is you have to have online proof of delivery read the rules and follow it and you will be fine

I will never sell on ebay again. I sold a $500 used tool (interface between vehicle and computer). Buyer was didn't pay until I reported nonpayment. Then he paid, waited a week, then claimed the item didn't work. ebay told him to send it back to me, debited my paypal account the full amount (including the $45 fee for ebay and $20 for paypal). I got it back and he was right, it didn't work because he fried it. I could smell burned plastic as soon as I openend the box. I spent hours getting a police report and dealing with customer service to get my money back. Between wasted time and fuel and fees, it cost me about $150 to sell the item, and lots of aggravation.

And all that with a "no returns" auction.

If you sell anything on eBay how would you all suggest taking payment?
