Credit card companies have an avenue for you to dispute the dispute. With paypal, you as the seller have little or no rights. When I had a problem I sent them all the paperwork but they already hit my account for 2700 dollars. Luckily I transferred the money to another account before the claim. They sided with the customer and never wsed my documents or pictures.

Correct. What I am suggesting is to have a bank account linked to Paypal, then another bank account linked to that bank account. I get paid on Paypal, transfer that money to my bank account #1 and then transfer from bank account #1 to bank account #2. Bank account #2 is at the same bank but not linked to Paypal.

Paypal trys to take the money back? This is what happens:

You recently attempted to transfer funds from your bank account. Your bank has declined the funds transfer because your account did not have sufficient funds available. We will automatically re-attempt this transfer in 3 business days. Please fund your bank account immediately to ensure this transaction can be completed.

The only thing I changed on that was Your Name Here, it is an actual email from Paypal. I sold a guy a set of props, welded hubs didn't work for him so I refunded him his money. I transferred online from bank account #2 to bank account #1 and then processed the Paypal refund. Some how the money wasn't moved fast enough even though my bank said it was moved and I got hit with a $29 not enough money fee (later wavied). Just giving my example, lesson is if refunding may want to wait a hour or so to make sure the money doesn't pass itself in cyber-space.

Two types of people on Paypal- those that have been screwed and those that are going to get screwed.

I always place in my ads on Craigs that "I DON'T DO PAYPAL, this is a cash sale or 3rd party escrow service transaction"

When I get these reply's I e-mail them back "If you can read English, read this again from my ad "I DON'T DO PAYPAL, this is a cash sale or 3rd party escrow service transaction. "Now Go phuck yourself" then I delete and remove them.

The funny thing is it's always a twist on thew same story
I'm a marine hydrographer out to sea and am buying it for my father etc, the price is acceptable and make me your favorite buyer...

MORONS for sure, but I've always wanted to take one for a ride by accepting, see who shows up, and then asking "where's the cash we agreed on?"

See ya,

These guys irritate the hell out of me! I reply back with SCAM!!!! They come back saying "oh no I just work offshore. Your full price is good for me and I will even give you extra to pay shipping company". What a bunch of horse $hit.

Think I'm going to play along like some have mentioned. I would like to find a way to piss them off like they do to me.

I ran into a similar deal on a car online, I told him to send me the VIN # so I could check it with the State Police. The ad was pulled and he didn't respond to any more e-mails.

I had a friend that someone tried to scam by sending a bank check for 3-4000.00 over the selling price (secretary screwed up) just send me back the difference with the boat. Found the account the check was drawn from was closed so if he had fallen for it he would have lost the boat and the 3-4k extra. These scams from overseas are non punishable by US law & not looked into overseas so they keep doing it til they find a sucker. Pretty low in my book. Randy

The way the scam works is not through Paypal. The "buyer" sends the you a email of interest to buy and saying he will pay through paypal. The 'buyer" in his email gives a link to paypal site for you to click and here is where the scam begins. By clicking the link one of two things can happen;
1 - you are redirected to a fake Paypal site where the "buyer" steals your personal banking info that the seller enters to consummate the sale
2 - by clicking link it puts spyware on your computer where the "buyer" gets your personal info.
Bottom line - a scam and don't Ever click the link.

I am selling my Harley and I get about 15 of them a day, I just delete them, as they are a big scam.
