Pictures Required
If we are required to post pictures of the equipment we were selling, would this help alleviate some of the problems people are having? Would it help protect the seller when stated "as is", "slightly used", or new? Other sites that I'm on require pics, location, and price when selling the item.
Just a thought, what say you.

Maybe but whats to keep them from tuching up a photo. Dishonest people will find a way to cheat and scam its what they do. The best thing we can do is to make everyone aware of who the dishonet people are. Knowledge is power

Its up to the sellers to protect their own interests with pics and how the money is exchanged.
OSO provides the swap shop as a place for people to list items for free. OSO is not going to regulate every listing.

that and some of us just don't feel like having to pay to post pics on here when every other forum were on doesn't require you to pay for such a simple and seemingly complimentary service.

pictures will not reveal bad gears in assembled drive,or internal problems inside of an engine,or rot in a transom etc,the list goes on and on.it is unfortuinate but there will always be dishonest people taking advantage of swap shop section,i recomend not bying anything of higher value sight unseen.i believe the beware section is a good way to warn others about these dishonest people so they cant screw others.i dont know why some threads get poofed from the beware section but it is not good when that happens,2 things i hate are liars&thiefs, and a dishonest seller is both.first they lie about the item forsale, then they steal your money.

I also look through the ads in the swap shop nearly everyday. If it looks like a scam, we'll address it.
In reality, it is up to the buyer. If a buyer has concerns, but would like to purchase an item he should use some type of third party for an inspection or escrow.service for the payment.

Yeah well a photo bucket is a PITA and still just a link not posting a pic. Every other forum I'm in and there are a plenty have free pics so kinda dumb to not be able to post em here without paying.
