Boat being restored pulled motors marina says this is not a 454 marine mag motor?? I always over the years used 1-800-runs new bought a few motors always got what I paid for! And JJ was a good man but passed away! 1-800-runs new said 5-6 weeks to get a new real 454 mag I should have waited. Anyway I call Doug Russel and they say we have them right now in stock (NOT)I paid over $6,000 for new not rebuilt motor marina says not only is it not a new motor all freeze out plugs are steel?? So he scammed us now the repair is huge stay clear sad part is they are in a different state how do you sue them??Called many times I do have 2 rebuilt real 454 mags but why can't he makeit right??Again stay clear of them!

Did you buy from the internet or did you call them to order?

What is the huge repair? Did they fail?

Let’s see a copy if your receipt from Doug Russel. You can cover price paid , your address , payjentvinfo and other info you may not want us to see. Lol

I’ve bought a lot of parts from them, somewhat local to me. Never an issue and never sold a used or rebuilt part as new. Be interested to see what the invoice is for. And swapping out freeze plugs should be a pretty minor bill when “restoring” a whole boat

It will run fine with probably what are stainless plugs. The engine will start and operate . The plugs come into play when a engine isn’t properly winterized . And even then , offer little protection . Not a big deal

with that said I have heard numerous stories of them peddling used/rebuilt parts as new. So this doesn’t surprise me...

All I'm saying is your are not getting a 454 marine magnum it's a truck block! What I paid for in writing was a 454 HO 4 bolt main rectangular port new marine engine that's not what was sent! Yes I did buy it off internet because I tried to save the season? 1-800-runs new who sold me many mag motors as agreed good company! He also sent it to a Dodge dealer ware house and cost me the season anyway! Marina called him to track motor??

Also 1 freeze out popped out last marina put a plug I was not happy with that fix and seller had full knowledge of this? Marina claimed bad motor they did not make good on sending a new motor also! Best bet stay clear just found out they did it with a Volvo Penta application years back so it's how they roll? I will post photos soon!
