Swap the props to 5 blades also. Your slip number is way to high. Stock 500 boats ran 26 bravo 1s,
575 boats ran 28's I believe. 5 blades make a huge difference in handling, lean/roll and on plane time. Ive had 3 43's and 1 46 to learn from..... lol

Congrats on that 46. 03 was the first year of the newer hull design. Dont be afraid to run some tab with the boat either in quartering seas or heavy crosswind (you ll need it)

What were the changes in the hull - larger steps?

The steps stayed the same. I believe there was some mods made to the strakes and from the rear step back on the sides ( not sure what its called) My 99 43 BT sitting next to my friends 05 46 had identical placement and angles of the steps..........

Below are some pics showing the design changes throughout the years. Keep in mind the first and second gen bottoms have a notched transom.

Great pics. As Endeavor1 said, if you have to buy a new set of props, I would definitely look into some 5 blades. Brett @ BBlades has done some 1st gen 460 BT's I believe.

You like them!!? I got them from this guy I know. Lol!

Not that I would personally worry about it, but with pro charged motors 4 blades and higher slip numbers will let you drives live longer. Like I said I wouldn't worry about it, but with that said I can rebuild a bravo drive and don't have to pay anyone.

Congrats on the new BT! I love these boats and If I had to choose one boat instead of 2 the BT is my ONLY option. There really is not another option out there that rides and handles great, fast, largest cockpit EVER, largest cabin EVER, huge bilge, just overall basazz!

I have driven Shanes yellow 46ec 07. Ryans 46ec 02. Bridget's 46ec 02. Dan's 97 43sc step. Loved them ALL!

Also been very very happy with my Prochargered engines. Zero problems besides eating drives. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/b...utlaw-fun.html

Enjoy and post pics when you get it!

with stock 500s 28 lab finish props the 46 would run 75mph, with pro chargers on it , you should be easy 75mph or more. I would make sure you have 1.5 gear ratio, if boat has a lot of hours, drives might have been changed in 10 years
