GPS Installation
I know where the GPS is to be installed but how is it wired into the boat?? Most of the boats I have had and worked on are equipped with power and ground strips under the dash. Is the Black Thunder set up the same way??
I'm asking because we are getting ready to uncover and start working on the boat here soon but just trying to get some insight.
Also where does the VHF get mounted?? and the antenna for it also. The boat we have does not have one at this time and we want to add one.
Any help WILL be much appreciated.
Thanks
Bill

As far as specific wiring questions, I would call Black Thunder and ask them. They are very helpful. My VHF, (and most installations I've seen) is under and to the right of the steering wheel. I mounted the antenna inside the hull, behind the fridge. While this does comprimise the range, it is a clean look, and you don't wind up with stress cracks around the mount. If I can find them, I'll try to post some pics.

Well, eventually we will have the new trailer and the starboard motor back so we are back in action. This will be the next project. I can't wait to install the new GPS and VHF radio. More toys!!
