where is your gps located most of the new boats ive seen has the unit on the starboard side sonic puts them on the port which is not good if the driver wants to see where he's going.any suggestions before the install?

I mounted mine on the starboard side up on the top of the dash to the left of the compass. Very easy to read here and not at all in the way. Where Sonic mounts them is a great spot to flush mount it but I wanted to be able to see it myself and you can't do that there.

Yea, Sonic put mine on the port side of my 386 too but it works out great. My son tells me where I'm going and how to get there. I keep my eyes on where I'm going .
If I want to know for myself, I slow down and walk over to take a look.

My GPS is on the port side of my 386 as well. It's sort of a pain, but I always explain to first mates how to read the thing in advance plus, like Quiet Storm, I just slow down and walk or lean over to take a look when I need to. I've been thinking about remounting it on a wedged block so it angles towards the helm station. I think that would work pretty good. Notwithstanding all of this dribble, I have to confess it's pretty tough to get lost on the river!!
